Would like final day of sail to be from JVD to RoadTown, anyone have an estimate of sail time? Motor assist? Need to return charter around noon.

It's 11.8nm from Great Harbour, JVD to the Moorings base in Roadtown. Just under 2 hours to motor. I might motorsail with the jib rolled out for the short 30 minute passage from JVD to Steele Pt, Tortola, and then simply motor upwind the remainder of the way.

You'll be fine with an early start but time underway depends on your boat and wind and sea conditions. The last time we did it, we had 30kts on the nose and steep seas in the channel. Our underpowered 40' cat managed about 2.5kts from Steele Pt. to the harbor.

I agree. Last May it took us 3.5 hours from Great Harbor to Road Town in a 38 mono. Winds were 25kts straight down the channel. SOG was maybe 3.5.

Just did it two days ago from JVD to Nanny Cay. Two hours motoring at 6-7 kts.
