Anyone have any experience on the Mainship 39 at CYOA? It's an older boat and I'm wondering what kind of condition it is in. Might look at it for our next charter.

I've never chartered a stinkpot. :-)
That said, I can vouch for CYOA.
They would not let you leave the dock if they knew the boat had a problem.

Depending on how my back does on our next sail charter we are thinking of a power option for the next charter. Don't have an unlimited budget and don't really care about the age of the boat as long as it is in good working condition. Never chartered out of ST Thomas but have heard good things from this board about CYOA.

Sorry to hear about your back troubles. It's so debilitating.

My wife had bad sciatica two years ago when we went to the SVI and she could hardly do anything. Fortunately we had a family of 5 with us that could help run the boat. I'm hoping to go back there now that she's doing better. She missed out much of it, and it's a beautiful place.

If we couldn't sail I'd definitely think about a trawler or power-cat.
