I have not heard of the 7 pm closing. We were there recently and sat down for dinner at 7. There were other tables still occupied when we left around 9 .

We love it! As you say, Diamond Reef is so close (which was fabulous last year, one of the few places that Irma didn't really get her teeth into). Also usually see Southern Rays and turtles just inside the reef, occasionally an Eagle Ray.
In certain conditions it can be a bit rolly, certainly not as sheltered as some other anchorages. Doubt you'd notice on a cat though.
Close to airport for picking up crew.
Easy sail the next day to absolutely anywhere else in the BVI.
Its a yes from me.
