We’ve always loved our visits to Cypress Cove and havent been in over a year which is about the same time some big changes/improvements were being made.

Finish off the beach area with gazebos, chairs and docks . This is a good idea, but how does it actually make out? Are more people hanging out by the beach. Very few did before but we would with our pup who couldnt go to pool. But there were more bugs.

Breakfast at Cheeks? We like Lakeside breakfast but have never had a bad lunch/dinner at cheeks, so how is breakfast?

“More” professional managers. This is the one I wonder about the most. The resort, restaurant, bar were always staffed with folks who had a relation to the resort somehow. Bringing in folks from resort x or y certainly could up things from pro mom and pop to pro but i could also see a potential downside. Is it all good or does the place have a less were in-this together feel playing baby nude Marriott?

Finally, we’ve toyed with buying a trailer in years past and might still. The deal is you buy someones “vehicle”, exchange title, and get the right to pay lot rent. Some of the trailers would sell for 10k outside the gate but go at a 100k premium. They have a hard time getting insured for anywhere near the price paid. So you could lose a lot. Question, just recently. Cypress started advertising mobile homes for sale (for others) and the prices are like 250k. Just a year ago the max price for the best house on the best lot was no more than 150k. Is there a bubble brewing in there or did demand really go through the roof. Could of bought an old one for like 50k a couple of years ago.

Pirate- we are snowbirds at the Cove, see my comments:

We have been using the area for some happy hours and bonfires, very nice. Not yet used during the day. Bugs ok except for skeeters around sunset.

Had breakfast at Cheeks once last yr, was fine but missed the ambiance at Lakeside and heard others grumbling same.

Mostly good IMHO, e.g. lots of good infrastructure improvements like the beach and the refurbished pickleball courts, but yes some "Marriott" feeling, partly because the new managers are not nudists.

I have trouble calling many of these beautiful homes trailers but yes, they are trailers legally. Somewhere buried inside those homes are trailers, I guess. A few of the unimproved places are clearly old mobile homes, several for sale less than $100k right now. But also some "mansions" selling for way into the $200k's. Prices no doubt are up since 8-10 yr ago, like everywhere else, but I feel it's more that prices are back to where they were 15 yr ago, say. And yes, there is a big (10x?) premium compared to similar structures in other parks. But you get a lot in the Cove beyond the obvious one, i.e. ability to be nude full time- the beauty, the security, the activities, social events, etc. Sure these are available elsewhere (nearby Solivita, The Villages etc) but those of us here feel it's worth it. AND it is inexpensive in the RV park, where we are. I guess the thing to do is visit and talk to residents and RV park'ers.

Thanks. We’ll get their when we can. Our travels taken us elsewhere with SXM, BN cruises, Haulover, Glen Eden, and, other local joints.

With Club o out for the moment, Cypress,Cove May be the best place in the planet. Hopefully, they’ll go back to #2 when CO reopens in whatever revised format that emerges.

We thoroughly loved Club Orient, and sorely miss it. When they get it rebuilt and once again accepting guests we will be among the stampeed to get reservations!

Last March we took our 5th wheel RV down to The Cove and spent the month there. We LOVED IT! We had visited several years ago while I was on a business trip to Orlando and stayed in one of their great villa motel rooms. Last March we spent the entire, month of March camping there with our RV. It was wonderful! The resort is definitely first class and well managed!

What really impressed us was the variety of things to do there... You have great meal options, the facilities are great and surprisingly diverse (my surprise favorite was the onsite 9 hole par 3 pitch and put golf course...and a best ball scramble open to everyone every afternoon. The pools and spas are great. If you can bring yourself to puting textiles on, the Orlando area offers tons of attractions nearby.

We even had Eric and Carol visit us one day while we were there...

The best part is the friendliness of the neighboring fellow guests.

If you want more info feel free to PM me...

Hi Bill. I don't know what my status will be by March, but hopefully we can come visit, if you come.

We are back at Cypress Cove and it seems like December is a good time to visit. Many empty RV sites and motel rooms. AND they have decorated the place beautifully for the holidays. Lampposts wrapped with colored lights and the office looks like an entrant in "the Greatest Light Show" contest! The weather has been coolish e.g. highs in the 60's and low 70's but still plenty warm enough at the pools for sunbathing in the spots sheltered from the breeze. Great for golf, Joni got a hole in one yesterday and won the pot! Busy weekend coming, starting with a "Streak at Cheeks" DJ dance on Friday night, the Christmas Dance at Lakeside on Saturday night with our kinda music provided by our favorite group, The Taste of Love. Then caroling Monday night and a big potluck dinner on Tuesday.
Thankfully, we'll have a few days to rest up before the New Year's eve parties start, simultaneously at our choice of 4 locations in Cove facilities! (although I think Lakeside may be full by now).
Come on liver, you can make it!

Hi Chuck & Joni. I spoke with Tiki and we are in the #2 spot on the waitlist for the month of March. Linda and I really enjoyed our stay last March. This year I know enough to bring my own wedges and putter. Question: do the local rules allow just one wedge in your bag each game or are you allowed two (or more)?

Bill- you can carry any clubs you want, no rules about that as far as I know I forgot to mention that clothes are optional, although it should be obvious it being at Cypress!

Thanks Chuck! We stayed st the cove in our 5th wheel the entire month of March last year and I played in the scramble about 7 times in the second half of our stay. We probably played a few games together without realizing it...

Hope to be there for March again this year. Right now I am #2 on the waiting list for a site.

Bill, we probably did! We play just about every day with the golf bunch, only takes an hour but it's a great way to meet folks and/or catch up on Cove gossip, not to speak of fun playing!
Good luck with getting a site, March is the busiest month, as you know. You might want to tell them that you are flexible, can move around for shorter site openings and consider staying some of the time in overflow if they can squeeze you in there, either the "members" area with water and electric or down by the lake if you can handle camping with neither service for a while. It's so pretty down there. That's how we started before we acquired a site for the winter.

Thanks Chuck. That is exactly what we did last year. When we left Maryland we expected we would be staying in the overflow lot with water and electric so we took along a big BlueBoy... somewhere along I-95 we got a call from the office letting us know there was a cancellation and we had a full hookup site for the first three weeks before we moved to the overflow lot. In the end we actually moved to a different pull through lot near the gate for our last week.

Our first site was right across from the dump station. We were the folks in the KZ Durango 5th wheel with the white Ram 2500 row vehicle. When you see Lynne and Nevin say hi for us.

Thanks Chuck, excellent web site.

We didn’t make it to the Cove this month...all the RV sites were booked solid and we never made it past #2 on the waiting list. We had Tiki add us to next years waiting list.

Here is an excellent report from the blog site mentioned above describing the writers' visit to Cypress Cove in early March. IMHO they do a great job explaining the "why" of our naturist existence here as well as most all aspects of the Cove.

And here's a cool video of the Cove from the 80's, no problem with nudity!
Video

Lot of changes since then like another pool, pool bar and many pickleball courts.

Great video, I lived close by there in the 80’s but never heard of it. Would have been a great place to go. We mostly went to MacArthur State Park.
What room type is recommended. How old are the non remodeled rooms?

We stay in an RV so don't have personal experience with the villa rooms. Friends seem happy in either old (only a few of those left) or remodeled, which cost a bit more. Some stay in them all winter! The remodeling started about 5-6 years ago, they've been doing building by building since. You can see them on cypresscoveresort.com. Get an apartment unit if you plan on staying a while.

Just arrived for the winter at the Cove which is looking great! Continuing infrastructure improvements, e.g. office, Cheeks pool bar, parking pads, etc. Same great folks here and more! Going to Pool Party this afternoon and the dinner dance at Lakeside tonight, good band scheduled. Weather great so far until sprinkles yesterday to ruin the beach party and AM rain today. Highs were in mid to upper 80s (= no clothes!) all week, now "cool spell" in 70s for the weekend. Hope to see yall here!

Been here since 31 Oct 19, unfortunately we leave 1 Dec 19. Best naturist and social nudity resort east of the Mississippi, and maybe in the US. So many activities, people are very friendly, and it is just a lot of fun to be here! Improvements discussed early are wonderful. The only thing we would like to see improved is the laundry. Yet as social nudists that is not much of an issue LOL.

Visited several days during the week a few weeks ago. The place looks great. The remodeled front desk wasnt yet completed but has since opened ai see. Lakeside dinner food and service were both great. Cheeks has remodeled and ditched the spottsbar motif for tiki. Im neutral on that. Not sure it did much for me. All the bar tenders are new and were also not an upgrade from the old mainstays that have retired or left. The food was also the same or a bit less in quality and a few bucks higher for each item. Before, I had never had a bad meal. I ordered a ohilly cheese on a white roll and it came out on white bread?
We bring 90% of our drinks to the pool so no big deal. I did notice a whole bunch of pit boss cameras over the cheeks bar. I never noticed that before and never suspected that any of the people would be skimmers or heavy pourers.

Biggest improvement at cheeks was taking the beep out of the food is ready beepers and make them buzz only. It used to be quite fun walking the length of the pool patio beeping to get your food.

The docks on the lqke are really nice and you dont have to get wet to get in a paddle boat anymore. Also some covered gazebo areas on the docks where you can sit in loungers big upgrade.

The trailer park looks great and they have high asking prices. It reLly is a deluxe area.

Stayed off property and commuted in.

Front gate people were an upgrade in friendliness. Some of the old time greeters were aometimes gruff but then it was great. Maybe they got some weirdos and that was a defense me hanism.

Anyways the new people were real nice each day as we paid admission.

Fig leaf atore always has a great stock od nudist/tropical fashions.

Didnt use the gym, massage, hairstylist but all looked the same good shape.
