Not sure I’ll do this daily or not.
Flight DAL461 from JFK left on time and arrived about 20 minutes early.
Immigration was relatively easy, over to Baggage Claim and bags there within 5 minutes. Outside to meet Leslie from Kenny’s and under way in no time.

Checked into BSV no issues. Our first stay here and the rooms are great. Unpacked, met Craig from PackLight for a couple umbrellas and then a swim and a first cocktail in the pool. No glass of course!

Wanted to try Nowhere Special only to find they are closed on a Tuesday. 🙁 Made the best of it with an old favorite Skip Jacks! As good as it always is!

Back on the patio having a nightcap, listening to the waves rolling over the sand.

For a travel day, it didn’t suck!

This sounds like the perfect start to any vacation. I can hear the waves and feel the gentle breezes as you enjoy that nightcap on the deck. I can see the headlights twinkling as the cars are going over the hill and i enjoyed that last cruise ship as it left town, too. I’m willing to bet you’re going to love the place just as much as all the rest of us who were lucky enough to be able to stay there.

I know the trip reports can become a brain drain but they mean so much to those of us reading them. Thank you and I hope you’re able to share more but not to the point it infringes on your trip. Enjoy! And TY!

Respectfully,

pat

Yes don’t miss nowhere special and make sure you do happy hour from 4 to 7 and that Devon is there at the bar making drinks. If you like a BBC you are in luck. The best I have ever had and his speciality. Ask for it in a glass tumbler. We were blown away the other day. Had 4 of them for only $8.00!! I had to ask him to repeat the price 3 times...left a $5.00 tip. Best drinks and prices I have seen. But beware, it’s so filling almost a meal in itself and could hardly eat a few hours later. Also at the bar get a brochure which includes 10% off your meals.....

Hope you have the best vacation.

See what you mean Carol on BSV. Had lunch on Sunday at Mary’s Boon, had a view directly looking down. I’m not into big resorts but it’s select there and has a good walking beach it appears, although not walked it myself. We usually hop over to Anguilla to Shoal Bay East to get that experience and wondered which beach could be close in easy, calm walking conditions. Irma did so much damage to the shelving of sand that some areas just cannot walk up what are now steep dunes! Well for us anyway.
Also thought the service at Mary’s although a bit slow, the people were very nice indeed. Food, basic but good and I thought to be offered chairs for the day just for you to eat something there was really first class, must go back and have a walk there, think my wife could manage that as it looks good.
In fact it’s all good. Boy does SXM have some kind of magic, so many places to eat and drink.

Occasionally there are some sand ridges in front of Beachside, but usually it is very flat there. Good for walking, if one is of a mind to do that! I am more into sitting in my chair and staring at an uninterrupted view of the ocean! smile
