Another exciting day at Casa Denley! It’s a good thing Lesley doesn’t charge for his cars by the miles driven - I think he might end up owing us this trip since we’ve done so little and gone virtually no where to speak of.

We enjoyed our breakfast of pastries, toast and coffee in the room. We thought about going out but it seemed like such an effort.........

And then we spent time reading and/or napping out on the deck. It’s so heavenly to be out there with the waves crashing and the sun shining down on you.

We lunched in - DH had left over steak from last night and then sandwiches made with bacon and some of that great Gouda cheese on English muffins.

On one hand I’m feeling almost cheap since we haven’t done much dining this trip and what we’ve done has been mostly very reasonably priced. I think we‘be only had two meals the whole trip that were over a hundred dollars but that said, we were guests of our jeweler one other night and guests of a friend at Anse Marcel for another wonderful day. But I suspect we may do some serious damage to that record tonight......

Came in from the pool and even though it was somewhat stressful to do, we actually made a decision and then stuck with it. Dinner was Le Moulin Fou? We were happy to see they had many diners and the staff remains stable there from trip to trip. Food was good but somewhat heavier than what I thought I was ordering. We both had different varieties of lamb dishes and in honesty, while the ambiance tonight was much nicer, I think I actually enjoyed my Sublime dinner more and price-wise, for sure.

Dinner done we headed off to the casino and we ultimately walked away with big Ls (for losers.....) on our foreheads but not major big losers so it ended well. It was fun for about an hour playing the penny slots but then it got old so we headed for home.

And I feel like such a dummy but before this trip we had NEVER used the valet parking at the casino. What a treat and while I don’t know if it’s always this way, they really didn’t seem to care where we were going whether it was dinner, shopping or the casino. Note for future trips since we did all of the above - use the valet!

There seemed to be a lot more activity in the Maho area so I guess it’s safe to say, between the big boats coming back on the water and the increase in walk-abouts in many different areas, it seems to be safe to say the island is definitely rebounding, a good thing for everyone - residents and visitors alike.

Respectfully,

pat

That is often our habit these days, eat in for breakfast and lunch, staying at BSV all day, and out for dinner. Good plan! We don't often go to Casino Royale, as I don't like their table limits, but we have used the valet at the casino fairly often and they have never asked us where we were going. I'm not sure what the status is of the garages at Maho now? I think the one on the side of the street with Jax is open for hourly parkers now??

Moulin Foo had a lamb special on Sunday night but only had one left by 7:30 and 3 people in our group wanted it. I thought it was good overall but I am with you on Sublime. We sent another couple there who are very long time visitor, and they really enjoyed it.

Enjoy your last few days.

Love lamb. We eat it at least one a week at home. We actually eat more lamb than beef.

Then if you haven’t already beentheredonethat, Scuba, and you really enjoy lamb, you have to go to Sublime and have their lamb skewers. So tender it would literally melt in your mouth. Delicious!

Pat, I chuckled at your report since it seems to mirror our "plans" once we've been on the island for a few days.
Savor each remaining minute of your November trip !!

I'll give it a try but I have to say we do our lamb skewers with cubed leg of lamb on the BBQ or oven broiled and I'm spoiled. I grew up on lamb fixed multiple ways. My mama was a fantastic cook and taught my wife well too. My wife's lamb shank is unbelievable.

I've been enjoying your trip reports--thank you for keeping us connected to paradise.

We've never tried Sublime but it's on the list for sure! I've been reading quite a bit about the restaurant here and on Facebook---rave reviews from everyone! Enjoy the rest of your trip.

You are very welcome as I do enjoy writing if only something as trivial as a travel blog.

Re Sublime - just don’t get turned off by the appearance. The people are nice and the food very good and IMHO, if they move to a more upscale location the price will sky--rocket and we’ll never get a table.

Thanks for the report Pat. Don't know how you keep up that schedule. Sounds like Betty and I this past trip.
