I am with kim on this, once booked, you are booked regardless of the means.

To me, it would just mean that nobody else can book that leg--not that your already booked seats have been taken away from you. I have never heard of anyone booked already being bumped. On rare occasions (with most airlines), it does happen but only after asking for volunteers first and that usually takes care of it. I would for sure show up early if I know the flight is sold out.

Tim--It sounds like your flight has just become sold out, after you booked, which should be none of your concern. Make sure you check in as required three hours before your flight and you should be fine. Do you have a seat assignment? If so, I think you're fine. If you DON'T have a seat assignment, get one. I don't think that Jet Blue has any types of seats that you have to pay extra for a seat assignment, unlike AA and Delta..

I certainly understand that people get bumped, but that is on the day of the flight--not two months before travel date. Not sure I understand, the OP is going in January.

I think that's the "not two months before travel date" reference as opposed to at the gate..
I have never heard of anyone with a confirmed reservation (points or otherwise) having their reservations cancelled....unless, as was mentioned, there was a equipment issue but even then they should have a plan B and present the traveler with options
Edit: Just being curious and having no idea what day the OP is flying on I checked every Saturday in January BOS/SXM and found at least two/three flights both ways every Saturday which I believe is the most popular travel day to/from SXM
With that said there is no reason why the op wasn't put on an available flight

Wow, OK, that's interesting. You know that you do have the right to cancel and get your points (and I assume money) back?? Probably that doesn't help you though?

I meant they do not charge for seat assignments, as compared to AA and Delta, that both sell seats that have no assigned seat at all until check in.

Tim,
Not sure if Im getting the full gist of your JB problem but if I’m understanding you correctly, I would call back and explain the situation slowly and clearly once again, and if the CSR who takes your call can’t make it right I would then ask to speak with a supervisor.
If you were booked on a flight and selected seats as part if your transaction, unless the equipment was changed and/or the flight was totally cancelled, once you were booked there should NOThave been changes made. And if you actually bought JB points in a cash transaction I would think they have an absolute responsibility to get you back on your original flight.
Again, that’s IF I’m understanding what has happened with your reservation.
Respectfully,
pat

You understand it perfectly - I'm planning on spending most of Monday on the phone with Jetblue - I was just curious if this had happened to anyone else. - And thanks to everyone for their input. I'll report back if I get any clarification
