Looks like 11 made to top 50 including Roxxy which surprised me. Figured there would be more considering St Maarten/St Martin is supposed to be the gourmet capital of the Caribbean.

11 out of 50 after Irma is an incredible achievement. Seriously! Very impressive showing. I was happy to see some of the older, established places, along with some new ones.

One of my primary reasons for returning to the island is the amazing restaurants, so I endured the agonizingly slow process of forwarding through this list. If you haven't gone through it yet, here are some highlights to save you time There were 22 different islands represented on the list. As mentioned above, St. Martin topped them all with 11 restaurants named among the top 50. The next highest, the Bahamas, had only 5! Even St. Barth's, famous as the playground for the rich, had only 3. That top ranking is pretty amazing for an island that was hit so hard by Irma only 2 years ago, especially in the Grand Case area. Here are the SXM restaurants listed: Ocean 82 Le Tropicana Emilio's Le Cottage Le Temps de Cerises Roxxy L'Auberge Gormande Barranco Bistrot Caraibes Le Pressoir Le Telegraph We've been to many of these or heard them discussed here. Haven't heard as much about Le Temps de Cerises, so would be curious to hear from people who've enjoyed that one. Hope to try a few more on our trip this month, although I hate to miss revisiting favorites. And even when we don't go to one of these top tier restaurants, we find there are so many casual, lower priced places that deliver a meal far surpassing what we find in other destinations. Maybe having this number of elite restaurants helps raise the standard over all!

We spent three days on the beach at Le Temps de Cerises in November and December. It's a lovely beach location in Grand Case, and the restaurant is quite good. Chairs on the beach are comfortable with nice cushions and umbrellas, and are free if you dine in the restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited, but they do have specials most days. My favorite meal of our entire three week stay was their mixed seafood grill. If you're on the beach, you can place your order to be served at your beach chairs, or if you want to come up to dine in the restaurant, they'll come and get you when it's ready. Great service and reasonable prices.

Thanks for the review Georgia. Years ago, we have stayed a few times next door,at L'Atlantide apartments, and really like the quiet beach in that part of Grand Case. We will have to give Le Temps de Cerises a try next month.
