Good afternoon all, we have an upcoming charter in May ( our 4th ) and are looking at Little Harbour JVD vs Diamond Cay. We spent one night in Diamond Cay a few years ago...did the bubbly pool thing and Foxy's Taboo which was all really great. We're just wondering what would make you choose one over the other. We're looking for a quiet place to overnight with access to booze and food. Thanks!

I like them both...but if you've already done DC once, do Little Harbor. Very quiet, well except for the goats on the hillside. Or, go to DC early..swim, hangout, b-line etc...then head to LH in the PM and have drinks and dinner.

We have enjoyed Little Harbor pretty much annually since our first trip in 1993. It is relatively unchanged since then and one of the few remaining vestiges of the way the BVI used to be. We find it peaceful and well protected, with never a problem to get a mooring, and enjoy afternoon cocktails at Sidney's honor bar chatting with Strawberry and family. Nice views across the channel and a choice of 3 local restaurants (Sidney's, Harris, and Abe's) each with lobster and other items.

I consider Little Harbor to be secluded and quiet, although disappointed that the 'clean-up' from the hurricane seems to be making slow progress. Although the ambience may be lacking, the personalities of Ms. Cynthia and Ms. Strawberry have always been exceptional.

I tend to agree with the above comments w/r to LH, however Sidney's really isn't as it was in the 90's/ early 2000's. WE like to hang at the B-Line for an afternoon .. seems more like the way the BVI was a couple decades ago.

For 20 plus years our routine is GH or LH. Spend the day in White Bay then if GH is full there is always room in LH. Abe in LH will take you wherever you want to go and pick you up at a predetermined time.

We love Cynthia at Harris' she is a hoot. The food is really good too. We do a little shopping at Sydney's, then dinner at Harris'. We really need to try Abe's again. We went there 20+ years ago and it was really good too.

In our case, we were on our honeymoon and had dinner at Sidneys for the first time. We had setlled our bill and it was getting late. We ended up talking with some other people and imbibing further for another hour or so. When it was time to go, I went to Sidney (now deceased) and asked how much we owed him. He replied - "You are good mon, you already spent enough here tonight". That did it for us. To spread the money around, we would go for drinks at Abe's as well as with Harris (also now deceased), Pick one and make some new friends.

Looking at the restaurants available....how do you decide? They all look wonderful! I'm sort of partial to Abe's. To see them in July 2018 piece together temporary facilities for their restaurant that was destroyed by Irma, then put out a wonderful lobster feast where my family of 4 were the only ones there was amazing. Their attitude after the destruction they had witnessed 10 months earlier was just amazing. I like Little Harbour because as others said, it does remind me of the BVI when i first went there in the early 80s.

Can Little Harbor accommodate a 45 foot cat on their moorings? I read on my navionics app that boats needed to be < 40 feet. Disregard this. The comment was for the mooring ball in the northeast corner of the harbor that has 39’ swing room.

Shout out to Cynthia at Harris Place....she put on a tremendous dinner for 8 of us last Saturday night despite the power going out on Jost. Everybody loved it...but I sure missed the Bushwackers...note to Cynthia...get a battery powered blender!

We are heading to Little Harbour this May. Have eaten at Sydney's every time we have been there. Self serve drinks (hope they still do!) was a foreign concept our first time going. One of the reasons that we are going to stay in Little harbour is that we want to try a Mediterranean Mooring to prepare for Greece 2021. Seems like a good place to try it for the first time....

They still do the self serve drinks. They have a different bar now. We had drinks there and bought some shirts etc, but it's honestly in kind of sad shape there...but they're working on it.

When were you there? In January, they had a newly built dock and I thought the restaurant was in decent shape.

Just returned yesterday. Can't say I noticed the dock...you may have a different definition of decent shape I suppose.
