FRIDAY Day 4
Woke up early again and feeling relatively fine after the 2 for 1's We had the gen a/c on so I was able to make coffee before anyone woke, but as would be the routine as soon as Jim heard footsteps he was not far behind. Our goals today would include the Bath’s and of course Leverick’s Friday Jumbie Party Can’t remember what we had for breakfast, but they all usually consisted of something like bacon or sausage, eggs of some sort, potatoes O’brien, bagels, cereal and fresh fruit. Believe it or not…I weighed myself after the trip and I actually lost 7 lbs, how is that possible? what do brain cells weigh anyways?
We departed Cooper around 0800 and ventured towards the Baths. It was a little choppy in the channel and the skies were still a little hazy. I was hoping the skies would clear so our photo’s of the newbies would be nice. Our approach to Devil’s Bay was calm and we found the mooring field fairly empty.

Jim dinged us in to knee deep water then returned to Blue Moon for some well deserved quiet time. I don’t care for the Bath’s when the crowds are there, but when it’s empty like it was this day it’s truly incredible!

The girls had a GREAT time exploring the Bath’s, climbing through and over the massive boulders, wading in the grotto like pools. We stopped at the snack shack and the girls had Ting’s for the first time and loved them, I enjoyed a Red Stripe While rehydrating I noticed a large day charter had arrived so we started the journey back to Devil’s Bay before the rope line traffic jam occurs. Too late, we were greeted halfway by a group of 30 and their tour guide coming from Devil’s Bay, oh well.

I could see Blue Moon was patiently waiting for us as we approached the extremely soft sand beach of Devils Bay. Jim quickly brought the dinghy in for pick up. How’s that for service!

Once back on the boat my wife fixed up some great appetizers for us, these teens can eat by the way! We raised the main and freed the ball so others could have their chance at experiencing paradise, however an increasingly crowded paradise! Tip: Get there early morning or late afternoon if you want the real experience!

Next would come perhaps my favorite part of the entire trip…Jim turned over the helm to my daughter She thoroughly enjoyed sailing Blue Moon to the North Sound. She had her favorite Ipod playlist cranked and the girls sang as she navigated the Virgin Gorda coastline. The skies turned a brilliant blue and it was truly a beautiful day!

Once we reached the intimidating Moskito cut Capt Jim took over. I’ve been through here before, but it always makes me squint my eyes looking for I don’t know what in the shallow waters.

Our slow motoring and clear skies allowed us to view amazing starfish resting peacefully on the bottom there, cool. Entering the sound we see a familiar and welcoming sight…Leverick Bay Marina! Jim makes docking look easy, slow and steady! Thanks Nick for saving Jim’s favorite spot! The girls were anxious to look around so off they went.

As we settled in I notice Rick and Sophisticated Lady docked next to us.

Then a gentleman appears on the dock and introduces himself, no other than Lookinat50, sorry bud but you need to change your name to LookinBACKat50 that jab is payback for announcing my toe nail issues online In all seriousness we enjoyed seeing you and your lovely wife several times on this trip! (Photo in future post)
Soon after that a nice young attractive couple stopped by… It’s Matt (Maytrix) and Stephanie! I told Stephanie that had it not been for Matt’s advice and encouragement a few years ago I may never have tried bareboating, so publically I’d like to thank Matt for causing me much depression when I’m not on a boat in the islands

Anybody need a drink? Jim, my wife and I walked the docks enroute to the bar. Along the way we wave at Sail2Wind and his son Greg on LongOverdue, sooo many TTOL’ers, cool!

It’s only day 4, but we had a little laundry to do so I stopped at the machines and found them busy. Oh well, left my bag of laundry on the table and found the bar while the ladies headed for the hammocks.

After a few cocktails with Jim I took a relaxed walk up to the office to buy tokens for the machines. Hello Monzie! It’s nice to see familiar smiling faces around this marina! After a quick visit and tokens in hand I returned to the machines and my wife had already loaded the machine. She said a cute little girl found her at the bar and said the machines were open, thanks little girl
Back to the bar! No Jim? I see Nick and he asked if Jim could come to the bar to visit with Monzie before she heads home? Sure I’ll find him. Well I went to the boat calling out Jim…Jiiim…Jiiiiim, I actually saw his feet hanging off the end of his berth and decided to let him sleep for a while! I returned to the bar with the bad news and was happy to find a small TTOL gathering!
Although my wife and I were having a great time, she is without a doubt the most sensible one in our family. After another beer she gives me “The Look”, I say “what’s up?” she says we’ll be back for dinner in 1-1/2 hours, should we put the laundry away, check on the girls and take our showers?…..She is wise!

We saw the girls having a great time in the pool and told them we were heading back to the boat to get ready for dinner. You can never give a teenage girl enough prep time, especially 4 of them on a boat. The girls were laughing and my daughter said “some guy on the dock asked if I was Beerman’s daughter” I said who was he? She said I don’t know and who are these people
Back to the boat with clean laundry. By the way, we use a flat dry detergent sheet that is a dryer sheet also, very convenient! Because of this laundry stop, I didn’t wear half of my t-shirts, tip:pack lighter than light, I should know that by now Everybody enjoyed the spacious marina showers and were feeling refreshed! more importantly everyone had an appetite for BBQ! We all walked together and found our primo beach table next to the band and bar, thanks again Nick! Sat right next to Lookinat50 and his crew. After acquiring our wrist bands we made multiple trips to the BBQ, the girls really loved this meal and a couple started with dessert
After dinner the band was a lot of fun. Everyone, including me which is rare, was up dancing! The girls were attracting some local boys and if you only knew these ladies, they are able to handle themselves. That being said, when Capt Jim saw this activity he walked over and let his presence be known! The girls looked at the boys and said proudly “this is our Captain” and started dancing with Jim Jim said later that his wife saw him on the webcam dancing with 4 young ladies, BUSTED!

Soon the JUMBIES came to play! We LOVE these guys and gals, they are a highlight of our trips!
