We didn’t have any problems flying BOS-MIA-STT and the ferry to Road Town and then the ferry to Virgin Gorda went off without a hitch. We stayed at Leverick Bay Marina as a home base for our 3 day stay on VG and Nick had a car rental waiting for us when we arrived. We spent the next day at the Bitter End hanging at the pool and unwinding and had dinner there that evening (the food was okay but nothing outstanding) followed by watching the Bruins game which they had projected onto the boathouse outside the Crawl Pub. That was pretty awesome. The next day we drove to the Baths which was crowded but not unbearable, had lunch at Nail Bay (which was outstanding) and drinks in their swim-up pool, went back to the room to change and then had the Saba Rock ferry pick us up for dinner (great dinner).

Friday morning we were up at the crack of dawn to catch the 7:10am ferry to Anegada and made it to Neptune’s for breakfast. Mark Soarse had a nice 4 door Jeep waiting for us at the ferry (I forget the name of the car rental company but the guy who runs it is named Eric (brother of Dean I believe)). We spent the first day at the Cow Wreck which we always love and that evening we had Happy Hour at the outdoor bar (which is open every evening now) had the Jungle Juice which will kick your bum and dinner at Neptune’s (I had lobster) which was amazing.

We had breakfast again at Neptune’s and I have to say here that with Pam in charge of the restaurant the food has gotten even better than it was before ( and it was really good before). The hash browns were amazing and the thick slices of homemade multigrain bread were to die for. People were coming in from their boats each morning gathering fresh baked breads, cookies and breakfast sandwiches. What a great way to bring in business.

Saturday we spent the day at Flash of beauty which was windy and too hard to stand up in the water because of the current so we went to the Big Bamboo which was great and then stopped at the new Anegada Beach Club which was interesting. The people there were very nice, the little pool was refreshing and the beer was cold but to me the building looks like it belongs somewhere else and there’s no view of the water from the bar or pool. The manager (who was very nice) told us they had built a helipad so that Richard Branson and his guest could come over to use the beach for windsurfing and she let us see two of the rooms which are very modern and very pretty but it’s not my cup of tea. I will stay at Neptune’s each and every time I visit Anegada. That evening we had dinner at Potter’s which was delicious but we were the only ones there and then went back to Neptune’s where Mark let us watch the Bruin’s game in one of the cottages. Thanks Mark!

The next day we went back to the Cow Wreck for the day, had happy hour at Neptune’s where we ran into Glenn and Karen Richards (whom we’ve met 2 times before in the BVI) and Walker, Nancy and Sandy, had dinner at Neptune’s (again amazing) and then went over to drink and laugh with Glenn, Karen, Walker, Nancy and Sandy at the Richard’s cottage Sunshine Villas? I think it’s called that. Nice place. Awesome people. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Monday morning we took the 8:10am ferry to Tortola, taxied to the West End where we had lunch at the Fish and Lime (the poutine fries were amazing, the cheeseburger was good and the bbq hot wings were horrible) we then ferried to St John and stayed at the St John Inn. Interesting place. Nice people. Weird shaped rooms. You could actually sit on the toilet while leaning your head against the tile wall in front of you. Not a lot of space.

We had dinner that evening at Caneel Bay (the pizza was Yummy!) and taxied back to Castaways to watch another Bruins game. Tuesday morning we caught the 10am to Red Hook, taxied to the airport arriving at 11am and caught our 1pm AA flight to JFK and then on to Boston. The only major screw up by the airline on the way back was when my boyfriend’s flight (he flew the first leg with us to JFK but then was heading to BWI) was cancelled. He spent 40 minutes on their courtesy phone waiting for someone to talk to him and then finally hung up and arranged with another couple who were on his cancelled flight to rent a car and drive all the way to Baltimore. AA could have cared less that they cancelled his flight leaving him stranded. The best they could do for him was to get him to DC (Dulles) the next morning which is over an hour from BWI. How he was supposed to get from DC to BWI was his problem. We will not be flying AA in the future. We have other choices with AirTran, Jet Blue now flying to SJU and STT. Also, Mark Soares gave me the name and number of 2 charter companies that fly STT to Tortola and STT to Anegada and if we have enough people the cost is very reasonable.

The highlights:
1. Pam and Mark Soarse and their warmth and hospitality at Neptune’s. I always feel like I’m a guest in their home when I visit and I plan on staying longer next time. The vibe there is awesome.
2. Sitting at Neptune's outdoor bar listening to Vernon tell his story.
3. The Cow Wreck. I’ll never tire of it.
4. Getting to see Glenn and Karen again and meeting Walker, Nancy and Sandy for the first time. They’re all a hoot!
5. Getting to take my 21 year old son back to the Bitter End, Saba Rock and the Baths. He hadn’t been back in 10 years. And being able to introduce Anegada to him for the first time.
6. Being able to find a place to watch all three Bruin’s games while we were there. That rocked!

The cons. Just stupid American Airlines.

It's a round trip. Getting to the summit is optional, getting down is mandatory.
