Having to stay put for 10 days makes all-inclusive an attractive alternative. Ok, no it doesn't, but I am getting warm, clear, blue water withdrawal and am apt to make sub-optimal decisions.

You need to understand this is Phase 1 of letting others back in. This is mostly for property owners and long term renters. They had previously stated that Oct 31 was the target date for opening country back for tourists . This seems to be a much more calculated way to test the waters on bringing others in than the approach SXM chose. They do not want tourists back right now. Hotels and restaurants are closed and it’s the middle of hurricane season. We will see.

Most higher end restaurants in Anguilla close after mid August and begin to reopen in Oct . This is when the owners look to take a break . This has nothing to do with Covid but the lack of tourists during this time every year. Of course there are always some who do not close and lots of local eateries which we tend to frequent year round. Just no reason right now to be in a hurry to open when it is usually the slowest time every year. They are just allowing citizens and property owners the opportunity to get back now which makes much more sense than what is going on in SXM. Remember the requirements will apply mostly to property owners so they would not feel they are as stringent as a tourist more. They will be more relaxed by Nov 1 and hopefully we will have a better handle on testing so it does not become the circus that is going on in SXM.
