Just thought I'd share my 24 hours in SXM -- I am sure too short for most of you. Flew from Toronto to SXM via Skyservice and got there about noon. Picked up our rental care from Thrify -- no problem. Drove to Le Flamboyant where we checked in for one night. Very nice room, the rooms seemed to have been refurbished a bit. We immediately went out again and drove to Grand Case where we stopped for a drink at Le Martini. I really, really like Grand Case. Then we drove to Orient Bay and it was virtually empty. The water was rough that day so I am sure that had something to do with it.
That evening we went into Marigot and a had a fantastic dinner at Bamboo. I highly recommend it. After dinner we stopped for a drink at Arawak. Headed back to Le Flamboyant for an early night. Next morning had a nice breakfast at the hotel (included in the rate) with one of the best features I have seen: an automatic latte, cappucino, cafe au lait machine.
Returned the car at Thrifty -- no problem and then took Caribbean Star to Tortola.
Going back to Toronto from SXM wasn't so nice. We had to spend over 70 minutes to go through security!
Anyway, short but sweet.
