If you are easily bored.. you best skip this!! We had a great 2 weeks on SXM this year....30 January thru 14 February, 2004
Friday January 30 – Flight from MHT to Charlotte, where we met up with Iowa_Girl and Howard, and girls, and Ameless and Scott. Then on to SXM. Stay at Princess Port de Plaisance
http://www.princessportdeplaisance.com. Taxi to hotel. Dinner at café located on island above the timeshares with 360 degree view. Casino in evening.
Saturday January 31 – Lesley Bruce
http://telem3.sintmaarten.net/kennyscarrental/ met us and got rental. Quick and easy. Dropped him off back at home after, and back to Princess Port de Plaisance for a walk around. Then ready to check out. Met Sharon for pick up of rental phone. Then on to Divi to check in. Got to Divi Little Bay @ 12:30…checked in and in the room @ 12:45. Unpack and not move for 2 weeks. Hit the store for some essentials. Then a drink and slow down.. Next… the TTOL party on Oreint Beach with LeeLee. Baywatch for dinner. Great crowd.
Sunday February 1 – Divi Beach until 3:30… Ric’s at 4:30 SXMNorm and Betty, Kathy (Iowa_Girl) and Howard, Ameless and Co., Belinda and Gary (WBL_Couple) Superbowl party at Ric’s Place Great food and drinks. After the game, Survivor at Brenda and Gregs place at the Sappire. Back to Divi about 1 am.
Monday February 2 – Down time. Off to Friars Bay. Beached it at Kali’s Beach Bar until 4:45. Then to the lolo’s for dinner. Back to Divi early. Drinks on the patio.
Tuesday February 3 – Up early. Off to 12-Metre Yacth races. What a day! This is a fantastic trip. Really recommend it to folks who like or may like sailing. Maybe winning the race made ever better! Lunch at Greenhouse with yatches: Ameless, Scott, Penny, Rocky, Brenda, and Greg. Also at lunch was SXMNorm and Betty. After, back to Divi. Evening was Harmony Night in Grand Case. Loads of fun. Then Le Pirate restaurnt. From there on to Le Pub for dancing.
Wednesday February 4 – Divi Beach. Lunch and Dinner at Divi.
Thursday February 5 – St. Barts on Edge II catamaran. Wonderful day. Great tour of St Barts on taxi. Great beaches. Beautiful scenes. Divi for dinner.
Friday February 6 – Laundry. Off to Orient for lunch with Eric and Carol. 1:15 pm.Met SXMNorm and Betty on their way out of Baywatch. Met Eric and Carol, ordered lunch and later Brenda and Greg showed up. They sat down and order lunch too. 3:45 we left back to Divi Bay. Cheri’s for dinner and show, with Ameless and company. Then on to the Lady C. From there to Bliss. Back to Divi by 11:30
Saturday February 7 – No cruise ships. Shopping in Phillipsburg. Met Norm and Betty on the streets of Phillipsburg. Stopped into DKGems. Found a ring for my daughter’s graduation gift. Lunch at Taloula Mango's. More Shopping. Back to timeshare at 4:30pm. Busy day of shopping. Up to Infinity pool for sunset! Great! Dinner at Divi.
Sunday February 8 – No cruise ships. A day to look for a beach. Signed up for “kayak to Phillipsburg for breakfast” tour on Monday. Left about 9:45. Drive west. First stop, bakery for a loaf of bread, then on to Copecoy beach. Not much beach, mostly washed away. What beach there was occupied. Onward. Next Lounge Baie (Long Bay). Lost of beautiful houses, but can’t seem to find the beach, but didn’t go thru the gate marked “private”, which I later learned was the way to go. Next to Bay Rouge (Red Beach). Pay for the chairs… and hang for the day. Wine and bread on the beach. Left at 4:30. Checked on Johnny B Under the Tree, but closed. Forget where we ate!?!?!.
Monday February 9 – Kayak tour canceled due to wind. Postponed to Wednesday. Run to bakery (Paris doughnut, muffin, and another loaf of bread). Back to Divi and hang out for the day.
Tuesday February 10 – Gauna Bay for the day. Wine and bread on the beach. TTOL party at BBB. Great meeting a bunch more TTOLers, and some from previous get-togethers. Johnny B Under the Tree for dinner. Lobster and ribs, yummy. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />
Wednesday February 11 –Kayak tour guide did a no show. Talked to dive director. Signed up and began free dive to try it. Signed up for SCUBA certification course. Spent all day in course, until 6:00pm. Johnny B Under the Tree for dinner, so good last night we did it again.
Thursday February 12 – L’ile Flottante for breakfast. Excellent coffee and breakfast. Off to Pinel for the day. Divi all you can eat steak, ribs, and chicken BBQ for dinner.
Friday February 13 – competed SCUBA course, now PADI certified. Lunch with Betty and Norm at Ms. Bs. Excellent ribs. Toured Oyster Bay Resort with Norm and Betty. Shopping in Phillipsburg. Then somewhere for dinner, but not sure where!!!
Saturday February 14 – Check out of Divi. Off to Sunset Beach Bar for lunch, meet Lesley to pay for rental car. Then off to Marigot, leave car in lot, and off we go to Anguilla for the next 3 nights!
Summary: Great time, Great meeting all the great TTOL people <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/thanks.gif" alt="" />, Great weather, Great food!!! Not a single problem!! Did I say it was a great vacation!! Hope to see all the GREAT PEOPLE we met the same 2 weeks next year!!
