Monday, February 15th

The sea was pretty rough thru the night and I pitied the boaters out on White Bay, but it was a beautiful day in paradise! I have to tell you that the view from the porch in the Pink House is unsurpassed! After the morning rituals we went down to the beach for the usual. We had rented snorkeling gear on Tortola and had decided to keep it with intentions of taking a day trip when my sister got there. The water was pretty milky so the snorkeling wasn’t great but it was still great to be there. We decided that it was 5 PM somewhere so happy hour began. The house has a cd player with speaker on the porch so my husband put on his favorite music. Anything by the Stones. I have to mention that the four of us have different tastes in music, really different! The Stones won out that day. We were groovin’ and movin to the music and having ourselves a groovy time. Kristen went down to the beach and one of the “boat” people told her that they wanted to come to our party! If our kids could see us old “farts” now! My husband is a pretty quiet guy but when he puts on the Stones he develops dementia. It’s pretty funny to watch. We cooked in that night then went down to Ivan’s. I met Ivan for the first time and he is a pretty nice guy. I know there was someone from TTOL that told me to say hi to him but I couldn’t remember her name. I did tell him that she said hi even though I couldn’t remember who it was. (who’s senile?) We crawled back to the house around 1 AM.
Tuesday, Feb. 16th. Spent another day on the beach (life is so difficult down there) then went to Harris’s that night for lobster. (or was it Monday?) Another senior moment….??? What ever night it was, it was the all you can eat night. Kristen and I got into line, which was pretty long and two women came out of nowhere and went right to the front. What a ruckus the caused!!!! I at first didn’t notice it but Kristen did and said so pretty loud. The woman that was giving out the lobsters informed these ladies (??) that they had to go to the back of the line but they wouldn’t budge. Well, being the quiet and reserved type that I am and always playing by the rules (being 1 of 9 children, rules were a part of growing up) I joined in with Kristen voicing our disapproval. A few people in back of us joined in. I thought there was going to be a riot! I couldn’t believe that they didn’t even get out of the way when us pions were picking up our lobster. Kristen turned to them and said excuse me 3 times and they still didn’t move. I said it once then bumped them off the step. I wonder if they were hired for entertainment? Anyway, the lobster was pretty good but I’m not a good judge of that because living in Boston we always get Maine lobster. We had hired a taxi to pick us up and bring us back. He charged us $80.00. It seemed a bit steep to us so it was the last time we hired him. Went to Ivan’s for a short while then on to bed.

Wednesday Feb. 17th. Much of the same. We stayed home that night and bbq’ed steak on the grill.

Thursday, Feb. 18th. I’m real excited, my brother is coming today! He arrived around 4 PM, changed into his suit and came out with his fishing vest, fishing hat, snorkel mask and flippers! What a freak. Within 15 minutes of his arrival he was in the water snorkeling. We didn’t see him for a good 2 hours. We made snacks around six o’clock before we went over to Ivan’s for the BBQ. Had a great time!

To be continued…..
