Greetings

We are looking at getting into BVIs in February. I have not flown into EIS before - always ferry/charter boat into Tortola

Coming from US - what is best option?

Book through United, fly through SJU and SJU to EIS on Seaborne
Fly into STT and Charter from STT to EIS
Or, I heard something about flying into SJU, then going to another airport for private flight into EIS. Read this one somewhere, but can't seem to recall details.

Any input is appreciated!

Will

My first choice is always fly to SJU and then connect to EIS. Depending on price, I book the tickets separately and use Silver (old Sea Bourne), InterCaribbean, Cape Air, or Air Sunshine for the SJU-EIS portion. The biggest advantage for SJU is that you have multiple carrier options in case something goes wrong with your scheduled flights.

same as Jason...there is great Jet Blue flight from DCA to EIS and then charter or one of the airlines he mentions

I have been "trapped" in STT way too many times

Agree with Jason - SJU to EIS the best option - On top of the scheduled airlines you may also be able to partner with someone who wants to charter on island birds or another charter airline.

is it known when we won't need to quarantine when arriving in BVI from U.S.? I have a trip scheduled for end of March.

Another option is fly to STT and connect on Cape Air, which has a late afternoon flight to Beef. You can get those flights on one ticket. If you decide to charter, it's cheaper from STT than from SJU.

Don't envision quarantine requirement ending anytime soon.

No, it is not known.

Personally I would look at doing/changing to an 11 for 7. If you are doing a boat charter - 4 days on a boat, book, snorkel, board games, beverage of choice, sun - ah.....I'm good!

Intercaribbean SJU-EIS is $227 PP for the same dates.

Be sure the BVI exit tax is included in any fare quotes. Most carriers include it, but some don't.

Cape Air is $150 STT-EIS through most of January.

Of course our dates are flexible, so the first thing we look for is the cheapest date to travel. Unfortunately Ratman has convinced himself he will die if he sets foot in an airport.

I use Island Birds frequently...less hassle, quicker service so I can get out on the boat that nights, and a cooler of Carib beer for the flight

If not a charter because trip numbers don't work we use InterCaribbean.

Ratmans wife has a good point as the tax wasn't included in the Island Birds quote last time we went.

Same deal I am also flying from DCA to EIS. I just booked JetBlue to EIS on 1/14. One thing to note with JetBlue you can no longer book flights that use Silver Airways online, you will have to call JetBlue to book them. There seems to be some glitch in the online booking. Or do as the Jason says an book each leg seperately.

We have always done the SJU to EIS route then NSX to Leverick where our girl Reef Song used to live ....seems like a million years ago !!

I would give anything to fly somewhere !! Anywhere ...we are pretty much on lockdown in our own city at this point and if we leave the province we need to self isolate at home for 14 days upon return after providing a negative COVID test to get back into Canada if travel internationally...
...sadly thinking it will be 2022 before we go anywhere

..Living vicariously until then

I feel for you Kim! I remember seeing Reef Song on her mooring in Leverick and wishing we still had our own boat down there! Now we do have our own boat but she is in lockdown in Martinique!
