Hi.. are US citizens required to take covid test to re-enter US after visiting St Martin.
Depends on your state of arrival and/or residence.

Things may have changed since we returned in early December but we flew into NY enroute to CT and did not have to test before arrival but we did get it done the morning after we got home. The alternative was to quarantine for fourteen days which we didn’t want to do since it would have brought us right up to Christmas.
We did have to complete and turn in the NY State entry forms upon arrival into NY but I think you could have said your name was Casper the Friendly Ghost for all the attention they gave them.
