Coming home to snow was the worst part of the trip.

Went down with 19 yr old daughter, 24 year old son and lovely wife. The daughter, coming form school in Tampa, missed her flight and was 5 hours late, otherwise the rest of us had an uneventful trip from Newark on CO. It is amazing how much kids this age can drink, they made us look like amateurs.

We stayed 8 days at Pelican and after the kids went home 3 night at Cap Caraibes. Pelican is in the best shape we've seen in about ten years. Cap Caraibes, first stay, the room was very nice and you can't beat the location. The only issue we had at this time of year was the constant 15-20 MPH winds. Occaisionnaly it were uncomfortable. Usually we stay an extra 3 or 4 day at Le petite Hotel and we think we will go back there next year as much for the proximity to GC as the winds.

While at Pelican we ate at:

Hot Tomatos one lunch and one dinner-very good
La Vista For a couple of Lunches- the food is good, made better by the location.
Laguna one night for dinner-very good swordfish and pasta.
Johnny B for take out back to the room on the night we all had too much sun was great. Two good size lobsters, ribs and chicken, with sides for $60.
Marios Bistro, our personal favorite.
Bistrot Caraibes, very good traditional French.

We went to the St. Martin Yacht Club-right by the bridge-and had a fun lunch and beers. Nice uncrowded place to watch the big boats go by.

Once the kids left we ate at Le Pressoir one night-also very good

California was the best deal in GC as the are doing an equal dollar for euro exchange.

The one new place, for us, was Spiga, and it was on par with Marios.

Spent a couple of days at Mullet Bay beach and it was fun as usual. OB was great but windy, as is the case this time of year. We don't hear a lot of people talking about it but we love Baie Rouge and Gus' beach bar. We rented beach chairs 2 and an umbrella for $27 for the week from Craig at packlightsxm@hotmail.com. He deliversand picks them up at you hotel.

The only issue we had all vacation, other than the E=$1.2-1.25, was on the Rhino Rider trip. The fellow behind us was not paying attention and rear ended us and slammed into the outboard of our boat hard enough to crack the housing. If you are going to do this trip, and we think its fun and worth it, PAY ATTENTION to the safety instructions.

After the people form the Heinken Regatta cleared out the traffic was not too bad.

All in all another great vacation!
