Greetings

We are supposed to fly out tonight. We are having issues getting approvals due to our test results

We all got tested and have our results via "MyChart" (online portal for all things health related). The format of the results apparently are not acceptable to BVI Gov.

I am being told I need a "travel certificate". The Clinic system we went to does not know anything about this and can't offer anything other than the results in the MyChart System.

I am in WA state for reference

The clinic suggested calling the WA Dept of Health - which is a dead end that I can't solve for before flights tonight.

Thoughts?

Contact Henrietta Alexander on Facebook. She was a great help to us when we had trouble with the portal.

Yeah. Amanda from Virgin Charters has been talking with her constantly.

The issue is that the 'format' of the test results are not acceptable.

Not sure what to do - the formatting of the results are what they are.......

I have not heard of anyone having format issues as long as the results indicated the test was negative and was a PCR test. Does your show both of those things?

If so, maybe dig around thru MyChart and see if there's an additional cover page or something you could include to make it look different. Sometimes it just takes a new set of eyes on the same information to get approved.

When they are referring to format do they mean it is a PDF and they need a jpg, or something similar?

Not format as in file type

format as in information needed. They are looking for:
Location of Test
Name of facility
date of test
type of test
test results
source (nasal)

My results do not state this information. So far, excluding me, I think we have been able to get the Clinics to give better results. (more detail) as a Message vs test result. We have and to call and explain the situation to the clinics

Apparently, I am the only one who has had these types of issues...lol

Quite stressful indeed as we are supposed to fly out tonight

Amanda at VCY is AWESOME. And Henrietta have been very helpful

Its still work in progress

I added the details page - sitting on stand by.

UPDATE

Ok - just got the first two approvals and I think the others should follow

What did I learn?

Generic / basic test results with only the date and 'negative' will not fly. There seems to be no standard on the results either, depends on the health care provider / system as to what the standard results contain.

We are dealing with two different clinics. After several calls to each - we were able to get more detailed results that contains:
Location of Test
Name of facility
date of test
type of test
test results
source (nasal)

One clinic basically hand wrote a letter. The other clinic we had to get in touch someone in medical records to provide a better detailed result print out.

Advice: Just be prepared to contact the clinic directly if the test results you are given are not detailed. And, do this before submitting into the BVI Gateway. Clearing this up on the day your fly is a bit stressful (understatement)

And I can say this for sure. Henrietta from the BVI Ministry of Health has been awesome to communicate with (I did through Amanda at Virgin Charters) and Henrietta was even cc'd on the email to the Clinic Records Dept. Definitely going out of her way to get 'outside' of the BVI Gateway to assist!!

i owe Henrietta and Amanda at VCY several drinks

BVI Bound later today - almost official

Will

One suggestion to anyone else contemplating going. Spend the money and do a trial run ahead of time. We did this so we would be familiar with the process. Can't imagine having to deal with this on the way to the airport. Good luck.

Solid suggestion! I would have paid $175 to not go through those few hours this morning!

But - we are all set. All approved!

I am able to get the diagnostic test that is done at the lab -- far exceeds the final result that comes from the reporting party. It probably depends on where you get testing at. But I went back to where I got my test and asked if I could get the diagnostic test and now that's what I always do. It's an extra step but it has all the information I need.

I have a question on this same subject. We've had tests done before in our area - PCR - they are reported as SARS-CoV-2, NAA - which indicates a nucleic acid amplification test which is known to be PCR - it gives everything but the source (does not say nasal). These results from LabCorp were acceptable for other travel - is this not enough? We still have a month to go, so I am trying to get my ducks in a row, so to speak. Thanks!

At this point it must say nasal.

I agree with Caribbeangirl - "nasal" was one of the key words they were looking for
