I got in a baking jag and made a baguette once. Came out spectacular! I was shocked! So good.
Yes, I think a French Baguette is a cultural icon of France.
And in Tahiti, you see the blue baguette "mailbox" in front of people's homes that the bread guy
delivers every am.
Cheers

Ours used to be at the Bon Appetit that is now Juliet's. Hoping they are just as good.

The last few trips, we've stayed at Mt.Vernon and we've enjoyed the baguettes from that little shop. Not sure where they got them. I'm going to make sure to try various baguettes on the next trip this May. One of our favorite memories is a trip in 2010 when we enjoyed a picnic on Orient Bay consisting of a great baguette, some Bleu d'Auvergne, which at the time wasn't available in the U.S. or at least in Detroit, and a terrific bottle of wine.

The stop and shop at Simpson Bay Yacht Club got delivery from baker in French side everyday.
We got ours there, or Le Sucriere.
Cheers

I guess we have to come clean. We just buy them at the grocery market across from Grand Case airport, or at the grocery in Orient Village.

Le Suciere and sometimes I will cheat and get a pastry and go out to the back deck and enjoy the view. I wish I was there now instead of looking out the window at over a foot of old snow still very white and more on the way.

I don’t have one favorite but I will also tout Jules and if you’re very lucky your timing might get you there as they’re just out of the oven and still warm. Nothing better, IMHO! 😊😊

Respectfully,

pat

I got lucky last week, and purchased a warm loaf at Bread n' Butter in Oyster Pond. It was in the evening.
