Hello everyone!

We were referred to this forum and there's a lot of really helpful advice here so hoping someone may be able to help us with a request that may be a long shot!

We live in Brooklyn, New York. My wife works for the UN and speaks French. We have a 3 year old boy and we're expecting a little girl in July. We want our son to learn French, and our good friends from France are living in Saint Martin for one year, so we are hoping to take advantage of maternity leave and come to the island for 6 months while I continue to work remotely, if we can find a house. We are thinking to come from November - when the girl will be 4 months and ready for travel - through April.

We are trying to see if we might find a good deal if someone with a house/villa is interested in locking down a stable 6 month rental agreement to an extremely conscientious family - since the weekly rates are generally far out of our budget for a long-term stay.

We are ideally looking for a 3-4 bedroom house to fit the 4 of us plus space for a visitor. We don't require right on the beach or amazing view, although obviously we wouldn't turn those down. Pool would be ideal. Not specific about neighborhood but looking for the French side so we could put our son in school there.

We've sent messages to a couple local travel/rental agents but no luck yet so thought maybe someone here might know anyone with a house that might be interested...

Perhaps even more of a long shot but we would also be looking to rent our condo in Brooklyn out while we're gone - we live right on the water. We've done 2 home exchanges with French families in the past and had wonderful experiences. It will be winter but hopefully New York would be quite vibrant coming out of Covid. If you know of any friendly contacts who might want to come to New York for a few months, exchanging places is an option too.

Sorry for the long message and thank you very much for considering or any other information you may have.

Regards,
Cody

Good posting request but this will be very difficult to get a decent place with the amount of rooms that you asking and for a good deal. My Wife is involved in Real Estate and will try to see what we can come up it.

Thank you Kenny! I'm aware it might be a long shot, but we're giving it our best effort smile
