Our third visit to Coyaba, in December of 2003, was to celebrate our wedding and honeymoon. There are a lot of places to have a wedding celebration in Jamaica, but in our opinion, there is no other place with such great food, great amenities, and excellent service. We've been to several other resorts in other parts of Jamaica, but for our money, the best value is at Coyaba.
A short 15 minute van ride from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Coyaba is a smaller, family owned and operated resort on a nice stretch of beach. With only 50 rooms on the property, there's plenty of space on the beach to relax, plenty of tables at their three restaurants to enjoy a meal, and plenty of staff on site to accomodate and provide wonderful service.
Planning a wedding is no easy feat. Planning one from 1500 miles away from the ceremony site isn't any easier. But thanks to a conscientious staff, and the technological boost the internet has given all of us, my wife and I were able to set the meal plan, arrange for a marriage license, arrange for the ceremony officiant, reserve rooms for our 16 guests, and were even able to pick the flowers for the table. The reservation staff and the wedding coordinators at Coyaba were communicative, prompt, and very helpful with all of the details.
For many of our guests, it was their first trip to Jamaica, and they were very impressed with the resort. Many of them plan on returning, and staying at the Coyaba. They were impressed with the quality of the food, the attentive and friendly service, and the overall cleanliness and appearance of the resort and the rooms.
My wife and I plan to return to celebrate our first anniversary. Coyaba already holds many cherished memories for us, and the quality of the resort and staff promise to offer us many more pleasant memories in the future.
