Last year we had a 5 hour unplanned lavyover in SJU, in the charter terminal, with no wifi or food, it was painful. This year we have another 5 hour layover, this time we know about it, should we just buy passes to the Admirals Club and stay in the main terminal until we have to go to the charter terminal? Thanks for any suggestions. Ellen

You might want to hire a taxi to take you to Old San Juan for a tour and lunch and get you back 1-1/2 hrs before your flight.

We are Admiral Club members and the stay is much less painful. Although Sail's taxi suggestion is not a bad idea. Admirals club is $50 pp a day. If you had 8 free drinks, call it even

For our trip, I am getting the 30 day pass for $99 to cover both ends of the trip which allows me to take the spouse in. The one day $50 pass is per person.

sail445, thanks, I am afraid to leave the airport because I have heard the security lines can be very long. deliveryskipper, that's a great tip about the 30day pass, thanks. It won't work for us this time as we are AA down and UA back. We used to use our Amex card to get into the AA lounge, but AA will stop accepting that on 3/22. We have Priority Pass, but it is useless, I have never been able to use it anywhere. I will buy the AA day pass, unless the 30 day pass gets you in without a ticket? Wonder if they would let me in if I told them I started out on US Airways and then got switched to United -true story. :-) Ellen

The priority pass seems like another political gesture to show that the government is lightening up but it's just a useless show. Like appointing a Boy Scout leader to be in charge of our nuclear arsenal.

Sorry for the confusion, my Priority Pass is a lounge pass that comes with the American Express card. Thanks again for your help. Ellen
