Our crew of fourteen will arrive on St. Thomas this July 23rd, a little over two weeks. After an overnight at Emerald Beach Resort, we have a pending 'Chillout Water Taxi' the next day to transfer us to Voyage Charters. Supposedly the West End port is now open for vaccinated individuals, and BVI based water taxis have been approved to bring travelers from St. Thomas, although I have no official verification of the exact protocols. In addition, we have three young unvaccinated children in our group. Now I understand vaccinated travelers will be required to take a 'rapid antigen' test upon arrival, but I understood BVI only had the PCR test available? The folks at Chillout Water Taxi and Voyage Charters have been very responsive, except apparently no one knows exactly what the specific protocols will be for our arrival. We will 'go with the flow' and hopefully it will all work out. If someone is faced with jumping through these same 'hoops' during the next couple of weeks and has something to share, let us know.

I think anyone that says they know what is going to be happening two weeks from now is probably fibbing, due to the current huge spike in cases. Hope it all works out.

You won't qualify for the fully-vaccinated port of entry because of the children (maybe if they are under 5) because they will need to take PCR test at regular port of entry. I would consider buying ferry tickets or chartering a plane before they fill up.

Now that they are going to require a test for fully-vaccinated arrivals, I'm not sure what they will do with those ports.

We're arriving in PR the same day. Either flying to EIS to STT the next day depending on whether or not we get my son's and my sisters passport. Neither look that likely so we're hoping to have our boat brought over. If boats can move freely it will be at a reasonable cost, otherwise we're looking at a higher cost of doing it. Bad enough we've had to deal with the unknown with the passports, now with all the new cases, who knows what will happen.

I think we just cross our fingers and hope for the best!

Matt
