Other than the two days that Fred and Grace went south of us, weather has been good. Some days with more Sahara Dust than others but all in all weather has been nice. Island is green from rains but probably starting to dry up a bit now. Staying at La Terrasse which we like. Beautiful views, have the pool virtually all to ourselves and walking distance to fine dining and popular beach bars.......all for $100 per night. Hard to beat. Lunches at Tortuga (best hamburger we have ever had on the island), Yacht Club (grouper fingers even better than before), Sunset Beach Bar (have to do at least once), Greenhouse (consistently good and varied menu), Chesterfields (our one trip into Philipsburg....almost a ghost town), Lee's (my mahi mahi was very good and wife's whole snapper was outstanding......one of the best meals we have ever had at Lee's), and Driftwood Boat Bar (love their Driftwood Punch and good place for ribs, wings and pizza). Dinners at Bar Code (music on Wednesday nights), Pineapple Pete's ( consistently good), La Rosa Too (one of our favorites.....until the roach showed up under our table.....a story to be told later), Toppers (new place is really nice but somewhat miss the beach bar feel of the old place), Sale and Pepe (really like the newer location and food was good), and Skipjacks (same menu and food was good but not outstanding). A very good trip so far. Only beach we made it to was Maho.....first time we planned so few trips to the beach. But given our pool setup, we really didn't need to travel elsewhere. Will try to do a more detailed report when we return.

Boy that really is a good rate for the hotel! How did you get that rate?? Sounds like some nice eating places. The sand must be pretty good at Maho, if you never went to another beach. I thought it normally comes and goes there?

I rent from a private owner and get a preferred rate since we come often and stay long periods. There was no sand in front of Royal Islander Club La Plage when we were here in April. Now enough for one or two rows of chairs.

Yes.....I was hesitant to include that info but wanted folks to understand why we stay there as opposed to other lovely locations.

I'm glad to see the "R I" back up and running! We rented there in 2016 from a friend too. Good rate, but not that good!!! Can't beat that location!! We were there for four nights, never used the car!! Loved the swim up bar too!!! Thanks for up dating us!! https://www.royalislander.com/overview-la-terrasse/

As RI La Plage owners we usually add another week to the front end of our week.
I believe the rate was $109 daily for a one bed room with daily room cleaning if desired.
Just a little closer to beach, Tortuga and boat bar.
Have used La Terasse pool when La Plage pool was redone.
Nice view of runway.
