Our second favorite meal in our two week stay. Located in Simpson Bay between top carrot and zee best Jai worked under Dino at Temptation / Rare and an CIA graduate Must of been a busy night as Jai was out of the kitchen on our visit bartending and serving tables We sat inside and got to watch the open kitchen and see all the dishes being served We know we were in for a wonderful meal Do not hesitate to try one of their specialty cocktails Appetizers included a take on the Italian burrata with smoky spices and blistered tomato and heavenly nan bread while the buffalo cauliflower had just the right amount of heat Entrees included a perfectly cooked cod and four lamb ribs cooked to medium While I had a dessert in mind and we couldn't take left overs because we were leaving the next day we forgo dessert
Jai's table presence was excellent as many chef's prefer to stay behind the line
Jai's accepts the magic of the carribean card and is definitely on our return list for next year
Jazzgal we have similar tastes as I recall your reviews, except that older jazz is not my cup of tea I am amazed how well you travel the island by yourself
Thanks for the report. The name of the restaurant is Jal's INDIAN cuisine. Those dishes don't really seem Indian to me, although perhaps I don't know what Indian food is?? Was it spicy? I figure the buffalo cauliflower would be. I'm kind of burnt out on cauliflower right now though, as we have been on a (sort of) low carb diet..
Of course the buffalo cauliflower had a little heat, other dishes featured a lot of spices but not necessarily hot When i think of Indian cuisine I think of very flavorful food but doesn't need to be spicy I would describe the cuisine as Indian fuzion
