Has anyone had experience with a car purchase on the French side? No resident/ US citizen- we have the info for the Dutch side, just no info for if our address is on the French.

No help for you on the French side hut curious as well as to how a non-resident can buy a car on either side for a seasonal visit.

What is the story for the Dutch side?

No Info either but we looked into it briefly. We own a condo on the Dutch side and visit several times a year. Found it sounded like a giant hassle!! Registration and insurance is one thing and what if you arrive and it doesn’t run. Decided To just rent every visit.

Kim--that makes sense. It's really hard on a car to sit for a couple months at at time, then run for a week, then sit again. Not sure, but sounds like the original poster is moving to the island?

Never mind it being hard on the car just sitting, but unless it is garaged, it would be a huge target for vandalism. Especially on SXM.
