My wife and I spent 8 days at the Hidden Beach Resort from May 8 to the 16th. Let me start with a small note, My wife and I have vacationed the last 3 years at Club O, so naturally we have only that resort to compare with.

Flights
We flew Usairways and had no problem at all, all flights on time and most were early. One small glich was our only bag was a day behind us.

Arriving in Cancun

What a mass of confusion We went thru immigration and went to pick up our luggage, got our luggage and then faced a huge line. Then for no apparent reason a man dressed in a very profession uniform came up to us and asked if we wanted to go to the head of the line. I said OK, I asked what the catch was, and he said that for 5 us dollars he could help us. So I took a chance and presto he walked us around the line and went right to the check point and out the door, it was worth the 5 dollars.

Transportation:

We pre arranged a limo for the Hour and one half trip to the resort. The driver was waiting for us, the limo was a little worse for the wear but oh well. The one we had for the return trip was much better.

Hidden Beach Resort.

The resort was fantastic

The grounds were beautiful and very clean
.
The room had a huge king size bed, 32 inch tv and a DVD player. The room also had a small stocked frig and a personnel bar
.
The pool area was very nice and large. We spent a lot of time there. The steps were slippery and many people slipped including me wife who jammmed her shoulder. The large hot tub was nice. The resort is adding a heated pool and hot tub under a roof which will be nice. Should be open by July 1st.

The Beach area was very disappointing with a small exception. The sand was very course and the water was full of rocks, We ventured once in the water thats all. The best part was the Phaloppas (SP) which were 2 person huts with a matteress. We loved them, spend hours on end just relaxing.

Food was good but not to my liking, but it is my fault. It was a 5 star resort and maybe I am a 3.5 person. The quality was excellent but the quanity was poor. The presentation was excellent but I would rather had more food. The portions were small. One comment from my wife, she thought they were just right.

Staff:

I can not say enough about the staff, Club O could take some lessons from these people. When we arrived at the reception center, we were greeted with a glass of Champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a warm towel. We were escorted to our room and were given a tour of the resort. The management was always around asking if anything was all right, we did have problem with our shower which was corrected very quickly. The recreation staff were lots of fun and very friendly, one thing I thought was different was when we played vollyball in the pool the staff got undressed to play. The only thing the management has to work on is the language barrier with the waiters. One time I ordered French Fries and got French Toast. It was very hard to get what you wanted.

People

We met some nice people like Sharon and Bill from Florida and Matt and Julie from Texas.

The towels flowed like water, they were large and fluffy and the best part you could have as many as you liked

Thoughts

We were surprised on how many people got dressed to eat supper, I would say only 20% were completely nude. I only have one week a year to enjoy being nude so we did not dress except for my wife pareos.

If you could pick up the resort and set it down on Orient Beach and keep the pool, the hot tub and the staff it would be perfect.

Club O should send someone to this resort and learn how to manage a facilitiy.

Can't beat Orient Beach

Shopping was horrible, salepeople were way to aggressive and pushie.

Closing

We enjoyed our Vacation very much but I don't think we are the all inclusive types.

Get ready Jim and Mary we will be calling about St. Martin next year.
