Yes, we just got back from ST Maarten and both the Sahara dust and volcanic ash were bad, especially yesterday.

Many years ago, when I was working, I flew a light plane out of SJU and through the Virgin Islands. When the Sahara dust was blowing the leading edge of everything on the airplane was covered with a red coating.

The dust is a messy pain, but on the plus side, it helps prevent those annoying hurricanes from popping up.
