We were up early & excited to get a FaceTime with our oldest granddaughter. We spent breakfast watching her get ready to work ( she is a freshman in college & works part time for a walk-in clinic close to her university.) & showing her our bungalow. ( she wants to be like us when she retires, a great compliment from an 18 year old! LOL). We packed up & headed to the beach. Got to our car & I realized we forgot our sunscreen. Ben walks back to get the sunscreen & our friends that are our next door neighbors let us know the water is off! Life on an island! Get to Orient around 9:15 & it was pretty crowded. The beach was much more narrow than July & there seemed to be less chairs. We had packed sandwiches for lunch, but early on I realized I forgot to pack the rum! (Don’t think Ben will ever let me forget this one!). We had a beer each with our lunch & got guavaberry coladas at happy hour. We saw old friends from years past. We made reservations at Gutside for dinner because our friend Ron was willing to drive over at night. 3 of us had snapper filets and Carla had shrimp. All of it was delicious. It is served with a salad, rice & peas with plantains & a fantastic creole sauce on the fish. But the highlight of the day was a MONKEY! We did not see it, but when we left the beach our friends Ron & Carla saw it on the roof of our bungalow! Those nuts threw a banana up there trying to lure the monkey back. We had a great day doing not much of anything! Just laughing & being so happy to be back on this beautiful island!

Nice report Katie. I miss seeing you, Ben, Ron and Carla on the island. Maybe sometime in the future we will meet there again if the stars line up. I have put travelling on hold until testing and restrictions become easier. Travelling alone now is always more stressful. Enjoy your trip and please do not forget the rum for future beach days. I know from experience how great your drinks are especially those mixed with lemonade!

I failed to mention Richard & Lourdes at Gutside. They were so gracious & welcoming! The food was so good! Took a picture but I am technologically challenged! Couldn’t t figure out how to attach! ( may be tied to our iPad.)

Hi there. If the picture is on the same device that you are typing your note, it is very easy to upload a picture. Just click on USE FULL EDITOR and click on attachment manager and upload the picture directly to your post. How to get the picture from your phone to the computer, that I don't know. I think it varies, depending on the phone.

Carol, thanks but I think the problem is I use an iPad. So many things are not the same on an iPad.

OK, well enjoy your trip, and looking forward to hearing more about it.
