Several ship calls expected this week. Hopefully will be good for the local economy.

Several ships berthed in town today and lots of walkers on Front Street. 🙂🙂

Is there a website that shows what cruise ships are in on what days (so we can avoid shopping in Philipsburg on the busy days)?
Does anyone know if the SXM cruise schedule and SXM Travel calendar are going to get fixed?

Hi campers--Eric fixed the link. It now goes to the official SXM cruise calendar. That should work fine.
As far as the SXM travel calendar, I think it works. You have to create a new log in, just for the calendar. You don't use your regular log in for it.

Calendar works fine. Biturbo accidentally created his listing, for his trip in July, last April and set it to repeat forever. Maybe someone can go in and delete the entry to clean things up?

It is going to be a very busy tourist season on St Maarten as this November has been quite busy with both cruise people and weekly visitors. A lot of Europeans have come as well so far.

Wow! Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like there will be over 30 ships stopping during the week we're there in December.

Yes, it looks like the scheduled cruise visits are back to something more closely resembling normal. I was looking at the list for January and February, when we will be on the island, and there are several days where there will be seven ships in port. Great for the island economy, but it likely means those days we won't venture too far!

" (so we can avoid shopping in Philipsburg on the busy days)?"
Keep in mind that there is more action going on when ships are in. Without ships in the town is pretty much dead.

Exactly. I would prefer to be in town on cruise ship days. I AVOID the popular beaches on cruise ship days. As much as I love El Zafiro, they do create a whole section for cruise excursions. Thankfully this year they have them off to one side, and they have their own dedicated servers.

Agree with going to town on cruise days....less chance of being approached by vendors of all kinds and more interesting with people around

I like the feeling that as I walk by a cruiser I'm saying to myself they are only here for one day and I'm here for weeks. lucky me.

..and...they are spending their one day on SXM wandering the boardwalk.....NOT the main perk with SXM....good for a visit but not a goal for the day

Anybody have a run down of which “plages” on Orient might NOT have lots of cruise chaises set up?
Each day seems to have a good amount of possible passengers . We will rent a car just one day week of 28 Nov traveling around the island from SBBR with another couple who are first timers…thought we would spend a few hours enjoying Orient /, lunch drinks

Friends were there today on a Royal Caribbean ship. The cruise line discouraged travel to the French side because of the protests and roadblocks, so they just stayed on the beach at Holland House.
