Peaceful Eastern North Carolin...
From Medworks:

Hi there,

Thank you for booking your COVID testing appointment with us at Medwork in Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten. You are receiving this email because you are scheduled for a COVID test with us on or after Monday, 6 December. Please disregard this email if you are not traveling from Sint Maarten to the United States in the coming weeks.

The United States has updated its travel testing requirements in terms of when the test has to be done. In summary, effective Monday, 6 December, "you will need to get a COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before you travel by air into the United States." Please read carefully:
Antigen tests are valid for travel to the U.S.: Our rapid antigen test remains valid/accepted under the new requirements.
Timing of test: "The 1-day period is 1 day before the flight’s departure. The Order uses a 1-day time frame instead of 24 hours to provide more flexibility to the air passenger and aircraft operator. By using a 1-day window, test acceptability does not depend on the time of the flight or the time of day that the test sample was taken. For example, if your flight is at 1 pm on a Friday, you could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Thursday." So a test done at 8 AM on a given day is valid for that full day as well as the day after you tested.

To be abundantly clear, then, a negative antigen test from us on:
Monday morning will allow you to travel on Monday, through and including any time on Tuesday
Tuesday morning will allow you to travel on Tuesday, through and including any time on Wednesday
Wednesday morning will allow you to travel on Wednesday, through and including any time on Thursday
Thursday morning will allow you to travel on Thursday, through and including any time on Friday
Friday morning will allow you to travel on Friday, through and including any time on Saturday
Saturday morning will allow you to travel on Saturday, through and including any time on Sunday
If your currently scheduled test date is not in the 1-day timeframe and you are traveling from Sint Maarten to the United States, please email us at sxmtest@medcare.aw with (1) your full name, (2) your date of travel, and (3) your preferred date of testing. As a one-time courtesy, we will do our best to reschedule you to your preferred date, as close to the time that you were originally scheduled for. You will automatically receive a change notification from our system once we are able to make the requested change.

Please bear in mind that we are working as rapidly as possible to fulfill all change requests that we receive but that we may take a few hours to get back to you. Please do not request a change if your test is scheduled in the 1-day timeframe of your travel to the U.S.

Warm regards,
Girish Motwani, MPH

Thanks for posting. So it seems that Medworks is on top of the situation, which doesn't surprise me, as overall, they do an excellent job. And I guess it looks like, for now, anyway, they will NOT be doing testing on Sunday.

June is a long way away, and most anything could change by then, but for our trip in June, we are scheduled to come home on a Monday, so we'll see what happens up to then.

I'm impressed on how clear that message is.

I am going to be switching to the Binax Now home/proctored tests for future travels.

To bad they aren't going to be open on Sundays. Since most all timeshares and rentals have a 10:00 am checkout it doesn't leave much time to get tested, pack for flight, checkout, get test results and check in at PJIA. for a Monday flight.

Scuba--I still think at least one of the testing sites will start doing tests on Sundays. Of course, I've been wrong before. Often am..

As of now, that is us, for June next year, although everything could change by then.

I finally received a response this evening from my email to Medworks from a couple of days ago. Apparently my email went to spam. As of now, they will not be doing any testing on Sundays. I understand--staffing on Sundays can be a big issue.
