We chartered a Lipari 41 from CYOA in STT. Landed at STT, rented a car and dropped bags at boat. We then drove to cost u less and k mart for provisioning You can drop the car at the seaplane base next to CYOA - very convenient and MUCH cheaper than taxi's.

First day/night - north shore St John - really lovely and peaceful
Second day - a high overcast but good wind! sailed back and forth between Jost and St John - flat water and good wind. Checked in to BVI, dinghied to White Bay - Ivan's was closed :-( Had some beers and really good conch fritters at Foxy's

and then the rains came.....

it rained hard (and really windy) everywhere we went for 3 days SE winds @ 25? Tried sailing up the North Coast of Tortola (headed for VG) - rough....ok, we'll try the Drake channel and make for Norman I....equally rough (maybe worse) after we turn up at West End...Hey Soper's Hole looks nice and quiet

we had a nice afternoon - evening there, dinner at Lime Inn, showers ashore ( $5 for 5 min?)

Did I mention it rained?

We went back to Jost where the wind had come even more from the south and Great Harbor was pretty rolly. Ivan's was open (no Ivan) and we tried Gertrude's for the first time - really enjoyed that place

The Sugar and Spice shop in Great Harbor has nice breakfast sandwiches and pate' !

Headed back to USVI...checked in, and finally the sun appears...we had a nice 1.5 days sailing in the USVI- snorkeling, swimming with sea turtles, lots of fish.

A decompression day at out favorite mini hotel on STT - Island View Guest House - great view, great hosts.

PM with any specific questions.
