Need info on renting a car on STT in April 2015. Names of some companies? Do you ever buy any of the rental company's insurance or just let your credit card (like AmExp) cover it? On STT, do people prefer the "big name" companies or local ones? Any experience info is welcome too...
[On St. Maarten many regular travelers going there rent from several local guys. We have been there over 10x, but it has been years since we were on STT to stay.]

Avis, Budget and Hertz are all located in the airport. Budget is usually the cheapest but has a bad rep for not always having a car that was reserved.
There are also several local companies: Amalie, Thrifty, and Dependable to name a few.
