Took United out of Newark. What a zoo! We have been leaving from EWR for 12 years in March and never seen so many travelers in international terminal. Because we use United app we check in early on line and using their travel ready ( United’s answer to Verifly) it is a pain. But you only have to print your baggage tickets and hand in bags and go. Took about 5 minutes. TSA was another story. The line for TSA went the whole length of the second level of the terminal. TSA is on third level. The line moved quickly they were quite efficient it took about 45 mins To clear TSA. I thought it would take longer. They were prepared. All TSA lines were manned. That is the whole length of Level 3. Made to plane no problem. We were on tarmac waiting in line for takeoff for about 45 minutes due to the number of flights and the dreary weather. Got SXM 30 minutes late. SXM was easy. We were the only plane that landed. Had to show preapproval and vaccination cards to both parties health and immigration. Got rental car off to Princess Heights for a couple of days. Fairly quiet in oyster pond compared to pre Irma. Westin hotel abandoned still condo timeshares are open. Went to BZH Creperie, new owner, still from Brittany. The place now has extensive menu plus crepes and gallettes. It was very busy not enough help. We wanted something small or light. So I had a gallette with ham, goat cheese, salad greens, cherry tomatoes and candied walnuts. It was good. My wife had escargot. With one beer and one rum drink- 42 euros. Too many items on menu and small kitchen staff and wait staff made for a long wait time. But it was fine. We are vacation
