It's anchored at Norman in the Bight. They're open for business.

The former Willie T was kicked out of the Bight and went to Peter Island. Peter Island and Oceans 7 bar/restaurant owners had a fit and it was moved back to the Bight. IrMaria said " hold my beer" and put it up on the beach between the dingy dock and Pirates Bight bar/restaurant. I think Husky Salvage hauled it back to somewhere close to Peter, and deep-sixed it to make an artificial reef/dive site.

The current WT is right where the other one used to be. Folks are still jumping off and all the other " delights" are still happening, too.

Your timeline is a bit off. The first WillyT was sunk long ago off Great Harbor near the wreck of the Fearless. The second WillyT was always in the Bight. It was beached there by Irma. It was eventually pulled off and sunk near Key Bay on Peter. The third WillyT was built and placed back in the Bight. The owners of the island wanted it gone and managed to somehow get their seabed license revoked. It was then moved to Great Harbor on Peter. The Bight became a ghost town and Great Harbor boomed. The owners realized that Pirates was in trouble and their mooring revenue dropped like a stone. They had a change of heart and the WillyT was returned to the Bight. I can’t imagine the Owners of Oceans wanted them gone as it should have been a huge boost to them.

We were down last June and the food at Pirates was really off. We ate there the first night of our trip and almost 2 weeks later to give it another shot. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience both nights. It was so disappointing since we love the setting. Did anyone else notice this and have things improved this year? Lastly, Oceans wasn’t open. Is it now and is it managed by the same people as Pirates? We will be back in June, so I’m hopeful that things have changed.

We are at Pirates in February. The Food was good but the pricing was strong even by BVI standards. Service started poorly with a 20 minute wait to even be offered a drink but was fine after that.

Steve - we ate at Pirates late Dec/early Jan trip. We all agreed it was subpar and the least favorite meal of the trip. Agree that it is disappointing given the setting. Had lunch at Ocean’s 7 in January. It was very pleasant - good lunch fare and great drinks. Not sure who runs it.

When we were there, the guys at the Willie T said that Covid caused a big re-shuffle where people moved to different restaurants or resorts. They also said that there was a management change for Pirates last spring. I hope they get things sorted out. We really like the bay, but our enjoyment is somewhat affected by the dinner option being disappointing now. We actually received a $24 salad with chicken on a small appetizer plate! Anyway, I’ll check in again to see if things have improved closer to our trip. Thanks for the responses!

I agree! We randomly decided to eat there a while back and it was delicious! Now it is one of our stops!

Willy T was a beacon of food in the darkness in the early days of re-opening when little else was open.
The fresh Wahoo plate is especially good.
