Owing to numbers, the annual TTOL Bastille Day party was moved to Avalon in Paw Paw, West Virginia this year. If anything, there was even more food as 67 people feasted starting around 1 and ending, well, I’m not sure it ever really ended. This was the first use of the new Condo Party Room at Avalon, and it worked well. Along with Carib and Red Strip, there was plenty of Budweiser, Fosters, and other various beers to quench the assembled thrust. Wine, including a special TTOL Bastille Day Party vintage was also available. People were there from Canada, Missouri, and Massachusetts, as well as the surrounding states . Frank’s evil twin unfortunately also showed up wearing a three cornered hat emblazoned with a jolly roger. Alas for him, a parrot was pouched on the hat, and appeared to have relieved himself over one side of the hat. Nonetheless, Frank’s evil twin passed through the crowd pouring a potent brew aptly named “Mort”. I might add that a real parrot and cockatoo also visited the crowd. These two were much better behaved than the parrot pouched on Frank’s evil twins hat. Bill and Linda, as usual produced great quantities of food, and much more was brought by the assembled guests. The most common complaint was the feeling of being a stuffed pig as the evening approached.
That evening the Bastille Day revelers, waddled down to the Saturday night dance, to attempt to work off some of the excess calories consumed during the day. You have not really lived until you see the Electric Slide nude!
In short, everybody had a grand time, as they have in the past Bastille Day parties, and plans are already being made for the next year!
