If you didn't read the original post it would help, but this now deserves its own thread.
After being told that we had to not be in our villa between 9 and 5 today for housekeeping we spent the day at Porto Cupecoy which was wonderful and will be posting on that separately. We returned to our villa at Flamingo around 3:45 only to discover that our room had not been touched, so we figured that there was still time before 5 o'clock and went down to the pool for the end of happy hour and returned to our room at 5:15 and still nothing had been done. Then my wife went down to the front desk and they said sorry and we would send somebody now at 5:30 just as we need to shower and go out to dinner. My wife said not now and they would make an exception to the rule and what time tomorrow would you like us to come clean. Really!!! She asked to see the General Manager tomorrow and returned to our room with this. Yes we were out of toilet paper. Are you kidding me. This villa was not cheap for a month and this is our first week. I think I need a Caribe or 2.

That is not acceptable and something we have never experienced in the 20+ years of ownership there. Ask for Colin at the front desk. He needs to make this right.

Thank you Carol and Scubaman they just called our room and asked us what time tomorrow would we like our room cleaned and we said 11am but we still want to talk to the General Manager tomorrow. I don't expect anything more than we are sorry but if they want repeat business this is not the way to do it.

OK, let us know how it turns out. Not sure what to ask for at this point, but this whole thing was not acceptable.

Wow, that is totally unacceptable. I hope you gave them big piece of your mind for all the inconvenience and then got back to enjoying yourselves.

I have to admit room cleaning while "in residence" at hotels etc in the past couple years has become a joke. We just don't even bother anymore on short stays and on long stays actually choose places often that don't clean while we are there, assuming I have a way to clean towels, I have extra sheets and have some basic cleaning supplies available, and I can provide my own paper products. I trust my cleaning far more. Not a neat freak but I tidy at least twice a day and am happy even on vaca to do a small load of laundry a day.
