Today was an iffy kind of day and not too much to celebrate beyond the fact of being here. Weather was okay but not as gorgeous here as most Caribbean days are. No sooner got our swimsuits on and headed out to the pool when the sprinkles started. But the good news - they didn’t last long enough to cause us to head to the sheltered end of the pool before the sun came back in all it’s glory. Even Saba started to return and make a showing by this afternoon.
We ate our breakfast - such as our breakfasts usually amount to - and lunch here at BSV but we did try a new to us dinner place - The Lobster House at Port de Plaisance. It was highly recommended by another TTOL member so we gave it a try. We shared a three pound lobster made and served as Thermidor. It was okay but I think we might have been better off had we just ordered it garlic basted and grilled. We are such snobs when it comes to Thermidor and nobody makes it quite as nicely as the people at Antoine’s did, or at least, not in our opinion anyway. The rowdy tennis players at the bar celebrating their matches detracted from the scene, too, but they were happy and hey! It’s Sint Maarten and being happy is a good thing, right?!
Respectfully,
pat

Pat--I have that place on my list to possibly try, but I would do the simple butter basted lobster, as that is how I prefer it. So many restaurants, so little time!

Would love to go back and try it grilled but right now, getting to the restaurant from the parking area is a trip for both of us, and quite honestly, the group of tennis players at the bar removed some of the pleasure of the evening.

Pat--When you say the 'trip from the parking lot', not sure what you're talking about. I had thought, and I perhaps am wrong, that this is where Peg Leg Pub used to be, after they moved to PDP? So, it's up a few stairs? I remembered like a half dozen stairs, but it's been a long time since I was there.

I get turned around every time I go to PDP. It’s not real close to the casino and Melange and I don’t tecall where on the property PLP was located.
There’s a big sign in the parking area right before the tennis court area before the the courts and then a small dry grassy area before you get to a wooden walkway. At the end of the walkway there are about five.or six steps up (with no railings….) and then a stone courtyard to the dining area and bar.
And I want to clarify in the event I may have mislead anyone. The Thermidor was good but just prepared somewhat differently then we’re used to. It was good but I think if I go back I’ll follow Louise’s lead and have plain grilled lobster. Did you really manage to eat the whole thing in one sitting, Louise? We split a three pounder, each side made into a Thermidor meal. I had the smaller half and couldn’t quite finish it (but not enough left to take home….) and DH had the larger half and probably brought home half of it. Guess you know what’s for lunch today…… 😊😊
Respectfully,
pat

Ah, OK, I don't do well with steps with no railings, so I think I will pass.

Humans, not lobsters. I think you realized that.🤔 Of course I did. Just wondered why you brought up human breasts in the equation.
