Kalatua Beach Restaurant, Mullet Bay

Here is some updated photos taken at the controversial beach restaurant.

FYI beach chairs are $30 for two but includes a couple towels and bottles of water.
The menu is pricey. It includes a caviar appetizer for $98.
Also a tapas menu later in the day with plates of meats etc.

I believe their menu is online but the manager gave me one which I could post if someone wants it.
Parking may be an issue although they have a parking area by the old Casino and run a shuttle to and from the restaurant.

I guess that place is meant for young people, as no way in h*ll I would use those beach loungers. I doubt we will go there.

Phil......thanks for the update and photos. I looked at their menu online and had a hard time finding something I would actually like to eat (guess I'm not a foodie). Looks nice but I will probably stick with Da Water Hole and Rosie's.

I could eat some of the entres (except for the $28 hamburger), but didn't see any apps I would want. I wonder how many of those $20 kids' meals they will sell???? laugh

Carol....it was several weeks ago when I saw their initial menu and looks like it has been updated with more offerings. So I could actually find entrees I likely would enjoy. But not cheap.

It makes sense they would have more offerings after being open for a while. The prices of most of the stuff doesn't seem outrageous to me. It looks nice, but I could never do those beach chairs, and due to other issues with parking, not doing what they promised to do, etc., I doubt we will be going there.

At $28 for a hamburger (hope it comes with cheese) they won't see any of my money on our next visit.

I like that it is different than the other options on Mullet, not so sure those loungers are what I would prefer but will probably give it a try on our next trip.

I prefer the Isle seat

Todd--Somehow, I figure those loungers are going to get changed out, at least some of them.

Yep. First big storm and they'll become rafts.

Yep. Looks like a nicer high-end option on the Dutch side. At 72, I'm pretty sure I can still manage to get in and out of those lounges. Might need some assistance after a couple of cocktails 🍸😁

They just didn't look very comfortable to me.

They look exactly like the lounges at Coco, without the legs. Coco's lounges are very comfortable.

Most definitely more comfortable than any others at Mullet but still not the kind of lounger for me. I like loungers that are easy to move in relation to angle of sun. Those are one direction only.

I have two bad knees, so getting down on the ground is not something I enjoy at all.

Scuba--Yes. Something tells me that probably they will have some chairs with legs soon.

We spent the day at our own beach today. Plenty of comfortable free loungers, restrooms, fresh rinse showers, no traffic, palapas with tables and no seaweed. My wife asked why we bother to go to other beaches when we have this. I somehow have to agree.

For the most part, we stay on the beach at Beachside Villas when we are there. Not crowded, steps to our own fridge with our own drinks and grill. What's not to love!!

Exactly. Nothing like the comforts of home.

It is a horrible location to place an upscale beach area. NO PARKING.....and at night they expect people to park on the road, and walk across the DARK UNLIT GOLF COURSE/ and at those prices, they can keep it!! It obviously wasn't designed for anyone over 30. I will continue to enjoy Mullett, on the chairs near Rosie's, and enjoy a reasonable lunch, with drinks, for the price less than just the chair rental at the new place.

We'll set up camp at Rosie's, walk down for a cocktail. I feel that we should give it a try before speaking on it. They will more than likely have to go to "Home depot" for lumber to put legs on those loungers!! My bad back is not going to be able to climb off of those "surfboard cushion chairs"!!

Sand Gravity, got to love it!
