American Airlines just posted their schedule for Saturday May 13 arrival and I just booked it. Got First Class from SEA direct to CLT on a redeye then business CLT to SXM arriving 1:11pm. I know times will change but got a great price at $1,164 each plus I had a gift voucher for $125.00 that I applied. Was same price as this last years. Figured I better jump on it as they only had 2 seats at that price.

Just paid about $1400 each for the return to PDX from SXM in March, most we have paid and that was on the lower cost Monday flights. Going down from Savannah after meetings, that was only about $800 pp. The cost to fly anywhere has gone way up, trips to LA and back have gone up by 40 plus percent.

My days of 100k mileage years may be coming to an end if this keeps up.

I prefer the Isle seat

I feel pretty comfortable with the rate we got considering it's from the West coast and only one stop.

I hear you, Todd, and my hope for you is they don’t change or cancel your flights between now and then. We already had one set of Nov. flights cancelled a while back and I haven’t yet found anything I want to spend more money on. Keeping’ my fingers crossed…….😊😊

Respectfully,

pat

We usually have changes, sometimes lots of changes including adding or adjusting days, we are flexible people. We actually only have an hour in CLT on our way back on that trip, fully expect those flights to change. With Global Entry if they remain the same we have a good chance on a Monday night to make the connection. Our preference if on the way back we have to spend a night it would be at DFW where we can stay at the Grand Hyatt right there at the airport.

Just don't take away our big seats and we can adjust, AA really has been very good to us on the changes. Knock on wood.

In all fairness, and admitting we’re not able to be as flexible as you and MJ, I have to admit AA has always been more than helpful and cooperative when they’ve forced us to rethink our trips due to their forced changes. I sincerely regret the changes they’ve made to their routings that have forced us into using JB more and more but I guess that’s life.

I do have to say, though, our last AA trip to SXM was in those big seats upfront and I was very disappointed in almost every way and Covid only exacerbated the situation. The planes we flew on needed serious up-dating and the cold Turkey and cheese croissant sandwich left a lot to be desired. Had I known how bad it was I probably wouldn’t have sprung for Business/First but hindsight being what it is….

Hope to see you one of these times but it doesn’t look like our plans will mesh through April ‘23 so big hugs to you and your bride.

Respectfully,

pat

I had them warm it up for us. Was pretty good heated up.
