We are flying to Anguilla and spending three nights there before our three weeks on SXM. My plan was to take the public ferry to the dock near the airport, but I'm not able to find any information about that ferry. I've asked on an Anguilla Facebook page, and am being referred to private charter companies. Does anyone here know for sure what the status of that ferry is?

The Public Ferries run from Blowing Point, Anguilla to Marigot. Private ferry companies run from Blowing Point to the Dutch Side, across from the Airport. Search for Calypso Charters.

Another search option for you might be G B Express on Anguilla. We used them several times in the past and were very satisfied but we haven’t done the AXA overnight in the last 6 or 7 years so not sure of their current status.

Respectfully,

We went back and forth in March with Funtime Ferries, and they were fine. Don't know about Calypso, but if they get Neil Rooney's vote, I'd go with them. Neil knows!

Either way, costs a few more $, but way better than the crapshoot Marigot public ferry, although, sometimes it works just fine as well. Sometimes not, however.

Cheers!

That was the one I was looking for, Pat, and I don't think it's running. I'll check Calypso. Thanks for the recommendation, Neil.

Georgia, we used GB for our wedding 12 years ago! Also another time since then. They are wonderful. https://gbferries.com/

But we have also had no problem with the public ferry from Marigot. Much less costly. Just don't leave a rental car in Marigot. Our rental guy drove us to the terminal.

We've used the public ferry from Marigot for a trip of a couple of days a few years ago, and took a taxi to and from Marigot. This time it will be one way from Anguilla, and we were hoping to arrive at the dock right there at the airport, so that getting our rental car would be easy. I'll keep researching, as I have time.
