Just returned from an amazing vacation in the BVIs. It had been 16 years since our last stay. I want to give some quick shout outs!

1. Island Time Car Rental: Kayala and team were amazing. They were so patient with my fluid plans and I was very pleased with the Suzuki Jimny.
2. Aristocat Charters: We had a terrific day sail to Cooper Island where we had lunch and I finally got to see Cooper Island Beach Club.
3. Sugar Mill Hotel: Lovely to see this hotel still thriving post COVID and post Irma. We felt at home here and were very comfortable.

And thanks to Vinny and his buddy from Corsairs who came to my rescue when I tripped over a metal pipe at the West End Ferry dock.

I had just come off a cruise and got to see some places I wouldn't have been able to as a landlubber. Enjoyed Pirate's Bight at Norman Island and the Bitter End Yacht Club is looking great!

Next time, I won't wait so long to come back.

Corsairs is certainly back and Vinny and “Pizza Dave” were in fine form when I stopped by for a drink on Tuesday. They are serving breakfast and dinner. The bar is open all day.

Since Dennis and Mary bought The Sugar Mill they have brought it back and beyond all its former glory,Many believe in may be the best boutique hotel/restaurants in the Caribbean. They had just finished a total remodel when Irma destroyed them and just finished their second remodel when Covid hit. Despite that they have a terrific , historic, romantic ,set of lovely villas and two amazing restaurants. Now they have Andrea and Rupert managing the place and its just great. I admit I am biased...they treat me like "family" as I love good food but am a hopeless cook. On this last trip I had Thanksgiving dinner there ( with Laura the T Shirt Girl), Christmas dinner and New Year. They made it all wonderful for me at a tough time of the year. And for those who stay at my place they may recognize some of the furniture in the rental...a gift from Dennis and Mary from the Mill who had better Irma coverage than I .I got the best stuff that survived for the price of a Red Stripe on the balcony. That is true island love..

Manpot - it has a wonderful vibe. Our stay felt so comfortable yet everything ran like clockwork. The restaurant was very busy all week we were there.

I believe the pizza at Corsair's is the most expensive pizza I have ever bought. But man was it good.

ND - the lobster pizza at Mac’s on Bequia trumps it. Both in quality and high price point - lol.

This talk of pizza makes me miss the Jolly Roger even more…😔 And the jerk prime rib on the water!

Dearly miss the old JR. Lou and Omar talked about bringing it back but the landladies deal was insane..so it sits there as a sad eyesore.
