We decided to go to Philipsburg even though there were 2 ships in today and the crowds weren't to bad at all. We figured that we would start at the end of Front St and work our way towards the ship pier and then come back on the Boardwalk. Well it took alot longer than we thought, all the shop keepers we know wanted to talk. We started at American Gift Shop and Rocky (the owner) filled us in on the state Philipsburg retail situation and local politics. He told us that it was his son in laws birthday so when we got to D K Gems we got to the door and shouted Happy Birthday Harry and he wanted to talk for awhile. Then off to Juggies and if you know Juggie we sat down and had a couple drinks, always fun. He mentioned a catamaran cruise that he will be on Easter Sunday to Anguilla that we are considering. As we went by the l'escargot restaurant they appear to be rebuilding. Then off to the Tommy Bahama store (ouch). Eventually made it to the Boardwalk and stopped at Nu Love restaurant and had lunch and talked to Andre who is from Quebec. We finally made it back to Flamingo for a quick dip in the pool then off to Julliettes for a SXM salad and a 3 cheese fondue. Being on vacation is tiring.
It appears to be busy for breakfast but not so much for the rest of the day. But we have only been here for a few days, and only notice when we drive by. But for dinner tonight our food was delicious and our server was a delight and was told when we come back to make sure that we sit at one of her tables. Not to bring up a touchie subject but when we were presented our bill she (not me) brought up the fact that there is no service charge added to the bill so tip as you see fit. She was well looked after. We will return.
Where exactly is Juggies? I vaguely remember walking by once or twice. If I remember it is very easy to miss. I'm putting it on our list for this trip. TY
Thanks for the info on Jullietts. Only draw back is the road noise being on that corner. The "she (not me) brought up the fact that there is no service charge added to the bill so tip as you see fit" is not needed as you could plainly see if it was or not. No need to bring it to your attention other than asking for a tip.
Well, I knew our 'concordance' wouldn't last long! Since it has become so common for restaurants to add service charge, I'm ok with the waitress stating there was no s/c added.
The waitress informed us about the s/c as she was holding our bill and we very much appreciated the information. And yes I would have noticed if it was or wasn't on the bill. Gotta side with team Carol on this one
