Heading to St Lucia soon for a sailing trip. Looking for pre-trip order options. Leaving from Moorings base at Botany Bay.

I’ve found the Massy store, but don’t see an order form we could do in advance. Doesn’t show large quantities like cases of beer, drinks, large jugs of water, etc. I know prices are EC, but booze prices are just so so.

Any insight as to best stores to order in advance? We’d pickup fresh items the morning of start, but have found it better to order the bigger non perishable items in advance and delivered to the boat. Thanks for the heads-up!

I don't think Massey does delivery. There are two, the original in the old mall and Massey Gourmet in the Baywalk mall across the street. They are a short walk from the dingy dock, and Danny who works the dock, will bring your cart back for 5 or 10 EC.
Alternatively could taxi, bus, or walk to the store and grab a taxi back, they are readily available, should be $12-15 US.
In Baywalk mall there is a duty free shop where booze is slightly cheaper than the supermarket (Chairmen's Reserve $11 US) you need your passport to buy.
Beef is expensive in the supermarket but there is a place up towards Cap Estate that sells to restaurants and the public. Dan got ribeye for 47 EC a pound, cut to order from a frozen whole piece. Fresh (?) strip steak is 198 EC a kilo. You could ask one of the taxi drivers at the marina.
If on the way from the airport you pass the Cul De Sac thete is a shop that sells steaks and seafood even cheaper, I don't know the name but their sales were coming up on my feed. The taxi driver may know.

Drink all day at home, your friends worry about you; do it on vacation and they say "what a good time you're having". Save your friends needless worry, travel more!

Thanks Sammy!
Massy told me they would deliver with advanced notice. But they really don’t have any decent online ordering. Same with our charter company or you want larger quantities, the online doesn’t seem to work. We plan on taking a taxi back from the big store. Nothing found like ordering in Tortola, sigh.

Thanks for the tip on the liquor we will definitely look for that. We prefer to eat most of our evening meals on the shore but need to stock up on beer water breakfast and lunch items.

We leave next week, one way St Lucia to Grenada. Ready as all get out.

Lucky people. Wish I was there. Plan to spend some time in Bequia, Mayreau (for the Tobago Cays) and Union. I really love Grenada but it is, in my opinion, better for the liveaboard cruiser and land stays than the short-term charterer. Doesn't have the beach-bar type feel of the BVIs for instance.

I keep my boat at Rodney Bay. Since the supplies are often limited or abundant, depending upon which container has arrived and been processed, I find it best to do all my shopping in person. There is a dinghy dock, as @Sunset_Sammy mentioned, close to the 2 Massys (the normal one and the "gourmet" one). Also, if you walk out of the marina there is another Massy about halfway between the marina and the Baywalk centre. I found that one to be well-stocked and somewhat cheaper, particularly when comparing it to the "Gourmet" store. A taxi ride price can be negotiated that is quite cheap. If you can, buy any beef before you go; prices and quality are high and low, respectively...
