It took them awhile but they got the job done. I guess because they have been renting out the rooms they needed to clean up the beach. The name of the operator is CocoVaa Beach Resort.
It can be a nice beach but $200 a night does seem like a lot of money for basically a 6 or 7 room guest house. Pictures look interesting but Call it what they want but it doesn’t have the necessary amenities to be considered a resort. I heard a local real estate agent was renting it from the property owner that evicted the last people. Personally I’d stick to a long known property like BSV or one of the others on Simpson Bay. Hopefully they can do well.
I had asked them about the restaurant, this was their response: In regards to the restaurant opening; We are pushing for later this year - looking for the perfect fit for a partner 😉 My response was that they need to get in touch with Bruno! Every restaurant he's had was GOLD!!! IMHO, ELZ restaurant was very hit and miss!!! It would be nice one night not to travel for a dinner from BSV!!
They JUST raised the rate to $200 a night at BSV, except for July 15 to September 15, which is $175. Our stay in June is already booked but I swear I looked at the website just a few days ago and it was still $175 a night for now, as of a few days ago. Still MUCH rather pay that for a room at BSV versus El Z. No comparison at all.
The BSV website currently states: March15-July 14 and Oct 1- Dec 14 is $200 per night for a one bedroom and July 15- Sept 30 is still $175. I understand there is no comparison with the accommodations next door, but just stating the fact that BSV has increased the price.
Everyone is raising their rates but BSV still fairly priced. As far as former EL ZIFRO nice to see something new in the location just seems like more of the last 2 or 3 operations , same rooms, furniture etc which have all failed. Hopefully this operation got a better rent deal than last and can pay it. The restaurant there just seems like another expensive headache for small out of the way guesthouse. Busy isn’t easy on the island and takes a long time and money to get established. So many other great places close by to eat etc.
