Good Morning,

Up for our first full day on the island, staying in Villa 13 at Beachside Villas. We're very happy with it, a bit dated but not a problem as the resort has a lot of charater. Vicky, the very pleasant onsite manager checked us in yesterday. A dip in the ocean was great this morning. Coming out I met Emanuel cleaning up the sargasm as he said he does every day. Sometimes multiple truckloads but today the beach is clean with some decent sized surf but with no drop off in the sand in front of #13.

Our trip yesterday BWI - FLL - SXM went better than expected on Spirit. Check in in BWI was a bit stressful but it was partially our fault since we missed the first hotel shuttle at 4:30 and had to grab the next one at 5am. Still made it to the gate in good order for the 6:45 flight. The first flight was full but the second one on a larger plane was only about 1/3 full, nice for us, bad for Spirit. Glad we didn't upgrade to the big seats since we had plenty of room.

A little food and drink shopping at the Garden Market last night and then a shared Grilled Mahi platter at Buchaneers was excellent.

Cheers,
Jim & Laraine

Thanks for the report and the pictures. Not that it is a big deal, but unless something has changed, which I doubt, Emmanuel is actually the manager and Vicky is his assistant..

Sounds like you are getting the hang of BSV. It is not modern, stainless steel appliances, brass and glass. It is that very intimate connection with the ocean and the calm and serenity of it. Enjoy!!

Thanks Carol, good to know. And yes there is definitely a connection to the water and island here.

That's our friend Mike's villa. He loves that location. We stay farther down the opposite end but did stay in 13 a few years back. Enjoy your stay. We'll be there in less than 40 days.

Jim and Laraine,
Happy you’re there and all settled in. It usually takes us two or three days to become totally acclimated to islon time, but once we are………
And don’t forget, if you need anything at all, Smarthie and Emanuel are your two best friends.
Enjoy but leave some sun and sand for those who come behind you!😊😊

Respectfully,

pat
