Does anyone have any experience flying Silver Airlines from SJU to EIS they can share? I have booked a flight from BOS to EIS with Jet Blue who partners with Silver in Nov.
The Silver Air reviews I have read are less than comforting but seem to be mainly on flights in the US not in the caribbean. Thanks

We have taken Silver b/t SJU and EIS at least a half dozen times in the last 4-5 years, also as a JetBlue code share. Only one time were we significantly delayed. All of the other times we were slightly delayed, but not enough to cause stress with respect to a connection.

When booking these flights, we always allow for extra time in SJU in case the outbound Silver flight is late.

Considering your other options into EIS (taking aside the fact that many prefer the ferry), Silver is about as good as any. Having taken the MIA-EIS route, this is preferred most of all.

My one experience with Silver was not great. We used Silver on AA codeshare in June 2022. Our flight into EIS (from SJU) was fine. But they cancelled our return flight the day before our trip with no alternatives. We ended up booking a last minute water taxi to STT where 4 of us travel back on one itinerary and 7 on another. Silver blamed AA and AA blamed Silver - no one took accountability or reimbursed us the water taxi charge. It was a frustrating experience where we were stranded in the BVI's with a flight out of SJU - but no way to get there.

Happy to hear that others had better experiences.

We've used Silver on code shares at least a half dozen times over the last couple years. No problems except for delayed luggage (which was not Silver's fault....late incoming flight from the mainland). I agree, the AA EIS-MIA direct is pretty sweet.....and pricing is more reasonable for the coming season. Mal is right tho. STT is almost always less expensive (including the ferry cost) if the ferry schedule works out for you.

We have flown code sharing with Delta. Cancelled flights. Delayed luggage. Lost luggage. Delta did nada for us in all instances. Cape rescued us with cancelled flights. We stopped rolling the dice and just fly into STT and water taxi. Might give the AA via MIA a try.

The newer and larger plane Silver is flying on this route is much nicer than the older planes they used. The operation feels a little loose overall, but over the 5-6 trips we’ve taken using American/Silver codeshare flights, we’ve only had an issue on one leg back home - and it was just delayed luggage. Overall, we have no issues with Silver, but I do make sure my wife has a drink or two before she gets on these flights since it’s a smaller plane. 🤠
