Is there someplace I can check how many planes due to arrive in SXM on a Saturday at given time?

The airport website but it only allows you to check for 2 days, but most Saturday arrivals should be similar depending on the season.

Thank you very much. My March flight on JB has changed 3 times from leaving BOS 7a to 9:35am to now 1123 am.

We usually check luggage but with all the wait times reported here I thought we should use carry-on only ; but if we arrive late pm (almost evening, day wasted) and there wasn't many other flights I'd go back to checking luggage.

MAYBE by March they will have smoothed things out? Probably not.

I complained on my departure thread on this BB about JB being late getting us home. Someone suggested that they are slowing down arrivals (therefore delaying my departure) to allow things to be smoother in the crappy arrival hall they built!

I am arriving March 10 and I am not at all counting on this mess being better by then. You may be fine if you do not have other planes ahead of you but if you do, it could be a LONGGGG process.

lcote--that was in fact what happened, they were delaying flights leaving the US, to even out the load in the arrival hall. I have no idea if that is still happening or not.

Icote where are you coming from? We'll be on SXM for 2 weeks same time.

We are scheduled to arrive on Saturday, March 16, for a ten day stay .Fingers crossed.

Try to travel with only carry on to avoid the hassle of the long line if Airfrance and KLM lands before your flight .

We go every year in March. I REFUSE to fly in or out of SXM on a Saturday anymore. The lines are long, and the place is a total zoo on Saturdays, even more than any other day of the week!!! We now go in a couple of days earlier, and usually leave on a Friday, but this coming trip, we are leaving on a Thursday....but after THREE glorious weeks. Saturdays are the busiest day of the week, due to the timeshares.

That's exactly what we do.

We either fly out Fridays or midweek depending on the airfares and when we want to get home. We usuall go for 3 to 4 weeks at a time so dropping a day or two isn't a big deal for us.

That is what I wanted to do. Sadly Jet Blue's Mint Service is ONLY available on Saturdays as is the direct flight.
A couple years ago we flew out Friday and had to fly through JFK. MOST of the people on the connecting flight missed the second leg to Boston. We made it but only by running pell mell through JFK and having Global Entry.

I've been checking arrivals since someone was kind to give me info as to where to check and it seems like more planes are arriving later than last year. Jet Blue from JFK at 5:46 pm the last few days.

Feeling sorry for car rental people such as Leslie at Kenny's. Long day for them.

That is my JB flight arrival time on Sunday. I had the same concern regarding car rental office even being open if there is a delay...

I guess I will find out soon but....the good thing is there are not that many (zero) big jets arriving around that time....so far

Did you contact the rental agency to see if they will be staying for you if late?

I did not....that might be a good idea, Website says it;s open until 6p but I will email now

Edit: I did notify them a week ago that my flight would be arriving at 545p. and they confirmed via email

Good. Hope it works out for you. You're probably not the only one on that flight that is renting from them.

Arrived yesterday on AA from CLT. We’re supposed to leave CLT at approximately 9am but was delayed & departure was at 11:00 a.m. Arrived in SXM at 4:00 pm. Boarded a bus & was expecting the worst scenario. It was the fastest time frame we have ever gotten through the airport. Picked up a rental car & checked into Simpson Bay Resort at 5:00 pm. We were totally shocked & pleasantly surprised given all the horror stories. Later is better!!!!

gracie--did you know why you were delayed?

Told us that they were looking for another airplane which ended up coming from Miami to CLT. Never told us why. What else is new with the airlines. Lack of communication. We assume perhaps mechanical issues but don’t know for a fact.

If you ask they have to tell you. Might not be the truth but something.

Leslie, you are the best! We'll try to tug carry-on so we don't wait for luggage. But, not looking forward to it.
