Hi Everyone, We stayed in Orient village last June and had an amazing trip and are booked for going back again this June. I cashed in travel points and have booked a surprise birthday trip for my wife. We're staying in Orient village again as we love the convenience of walking to the beach, beach bars, stores and restaurants.

With April being high season, should we expect to have to make reservations at the restaurants in the cul de sac? I read on here also that Le String can be pretty crowed in April. Le String was our beach gravity location for most of our trip last June. We of course did not have a problem just walking in and finding a table back in June both at Le String and the cul de sac restaurants.

We didn't rent a car last time and found we didn't need it for our 2 weeks last June. However, we booked a catamaran cruise that leaves out of Philipsburg at 8am so we're thinking we may need a car to get there in time. I would expect traffic to be heavier in the high season.

If you could, let me know any "heads ups" for an April vs June trip to Orient Village.

Thanks!

We are Le String "regulars". We will be there in March and have been there many times in April. It probably will be crowded especially on big cruise days. My suggestion is to stop by the day you arrive and ask John Henri to reserve beach chairs for you and also ask him to reserve a lunch table for you. If you do not want to rent a car, taxis are available. Enjoy.

Thanks bethandsteve! Great advice. John Henri was great when we were there back in June.

Anyone have advice on whether we should consider making reservations at cul de sac restaurants in Orient Village? Thanks.

From my experience, reservations and not "needed", but I would make reservations if you know in advance what restaurant you want to eat at, what time you want to be there and especially if you have a seating preference. Never hurts to make reservations unless you are trying to avoid having a "schedule" on vacation.

In off season we usually make them at the restaurant the day before we want to dine there. Never a problem for a 7 or 7:30 reservation. For the most part that is what we do in February/March as well. We have never been in April but do notice by the middle of March it is much less busy than February and early March.

Hey smile Thanks for the feedback everyone! Sounds like no need to worry but be a bit intentional about making them if we're certain we want to dine at a particular restaurant the following evening.
